Have you tried as per my suggestion? I'm pretty sure the setting to alter the backlight are as my comment. :aok:

There's lots of settings but I think they can only be changed with Sepura Radio Manager software. While most people would probably find them really annoying, I'd like the beep at the end of transmission but I can't turn it on through the menu. The folks at the nick just down the road in the next force wish they had the opposite!

I have the beep on mine, was annoying at first but got used to it now! Most people do hate it though

I'd just like the time on mine to be honest!

Backlight...

If it's the same as ours. Press the down button, scroll to settings, press down again, scroll to option 2, then press the red button to disable, or the green one to enable. :aok:

Settings, option 8 will also set the clock if yours is wrong.

I think it would be fair to say that while some of the things covered in the manual are indeed restricted, basic settings that would be common to all users of Airwave aren't really a problem.

It sounds like it's hard coded in the radio as the Standard setting in GMP, only lights up the screen when:

1. You press a button
2. Someone P2P's you
3. The emergency button is pressed by some one.

There is an option in the menu to turn the backlight off though. We also have convert mode as well, but have never tried that. It might be worth giving your radio workshop a call to see if it can be done.

All you need to do is ask your local superuser. They'll be able to tell you if the force have disabled/restricted the functionality. Simple.

Or they can just follow the instructions above, try it and find out thus saving the time of a supervisor.....

Our radio is the 3800, not the 3900. It looks identical and has the same basic settings as the police one. :aok:
