Welcome :). PM me your dets and I can confirm if we know about you tomorrow. We always offer an induction within weeks of passing out depending on your availability. However as I have said, your intake are the last (attentions in July) to arrive so we will be putting in a plan to get you all inducted before games as all the managers and special supervisors will be swamped when the games is live. At the moment we are inducting apprpx 22-24 officers a week due to KF being given a total of 230 officers target at end of July.

230 MSC officers by July thats got to be the largest contingent of SC's in a single BOCU hasn't it? Have you got room for us all at Forest Gate? :pc:

Also depends if they have all your uniform.

I could have had my first shift the week after i attested but i'm still waiting for a metvest :strop:

I finished my PC training in February and still don't have a flatcap, 5 shirts and a load of other stuff. It's pathetic.

Loads of regulars started street duties today and almost 3/4 of them do not have Met Vests,

Hi Ben

There are three of us coming to KF from our Hybrid Course. The course ends on 30th June.

Assuming Attestation happens fairly soon after that will there still be time for us to be inducted before everyone gets too busy with Olympic duties?

My course finishes on July 8 and we have attestation on July 14 - Training have said there will be multiple classes attesting at the same time so maybe we are all together - there are three in my class going to KF also..

Do you think we will get inducted before kick off??

This bodes well for me, as my course finishes on July 11th. So Perhaps I'll be seeing you there!

Cheers for the heads-up.

Someone I know left specials due to his Metvest being lost or something and having to wait 4 months to get a new one, meaning no shifts - must be a real kick in the teeth but then again it's a busy time.

Official time between my attestation and first shift = 21 days.

Could have been 7 days if i had all my uniform!

You can understand the logistics of uniform provision in an organisation that is as vast as the Met - it cannot be easy thats for sure and I sympathise with the uniform services team - they probably get a lot of flack. But.....We were measured for uniform on our day 2 (mine was December 14) I started training on February 11. On our first day we were told we will get our uniform early on in our training and were shown how to care for it, washing and ironing procedures etc.

At this moment in time - no uniform whatsoever with 5 weeks to go and based on the experiences of others we will be fortunate to get what we need to attest on July 14, let alone be able to do a duty...

Seven months to get uniform (Take out Christmas and New Year to e fair so six months) - not great efficiency is it :new_no:

On a positive - my day job isnt any ore efficient - just seems to be the way of the world..

My class got our uniform on the last day after we had finished the KEE 3 exam and we all had kit missing!! We did not even get a delivery note and so could not even be sure what was missing, apart from some obvious items. Most of us are missing our tunics, although according to Uniform Services mine was sent out with the rest of my kit! Our attestation is this Saturday and so far only one of us has a tunic, and I do not even have a helmet or MetVest so not sure what impact that will have on duties after attestation.

Is it possible to attest without your tunic, e.g. Met long sleeve shirt, tie, trousers, boots, etc or would we have to wear suits?

If you don't get a tunic in time you will be asked to wear a suit.

This is poor isn't it?
I said before our measurments etc were taken in December they have known we are coming through for seven months!!
Surely thats enough time in any organisation to provide uniform!!

Depending on what borough that you are going too!!!

I attested on the 6th August and didn't get my first shift until 16th September and in-between this time I had to do my induction as well as the beloved NCLAT!!!

PS. don't forget you may have to do coached patrols too.

Good luck anyway!
