Congratulations! My assessment isn't until 14 June, but good to hear some success (it is too quiet in this room). How long ago was your assessment?

I was wondering earlier today, does anyone know how often training intakes are?

There are 6 a year, so every two months. Though they had a PC I take start in February and another due to start in October so it may be only four SC intakes this year.

My assesment was 15th match but I applied back in February. Feels like a long time coming but worth the wait! Good luck with your assesment.

For the guys that are starting on the 23rd June: do your pre-reads, do them again and then do then again! Knowing too much is better than not knowing them as well as everyone else.

You have 5 exams ti which you MUST score a minimum of 65% on. If you fail you re-take within two weeks, fail again and you will be recoursed.

If you do your reading you WILL pass. If you don't you WILL fail.

One month in, how is it going for you guys?

I should be on the September 15th intake, assuming I pass my medical next week and my DVLA check comes back ok.

What trainers have you had so far phlopip?

Glad you are enjoying it. Though it does not seem like it at the moment, it flies by and before you know it you are standing there reading the oath!

Which area are you going to?

Oooh yay! That's the fun part of the application process. Dave who works in stores is a good laugh, you will have fun :new_shades:
Just make sure everything fits properly, and one day you might get it.... I have been attested since March and am still waiting on black polos!!!

Still waiting on the wicker shirts? Jeeze, Are you wearing your white shirt in the mean time then?

I think everyone enjoys uniform day. The fitting part is fun but its even more fun when all your uniform arrives and you get to try it all on together :D

Yep, still waiting.... luckily I bought my own though so I didn't have to wear my white shirt... they have had trouble with uniform this year after a supplier went into liquidation and then Dave had some time off. Hopefully it is all back to normal now though :)

Yeah when you get it all (or some in my intakes case) it is good trying it all on :) even more fun when you're out and about in it!!!

Do you guys have/had PC Dave Bates? He is well know with my colleagues as a training legend and a good copper but I think he may have retired and you have a new Dave?

I never had PC Dave Bates when I was in training from September to March this year, but I have had heard stories about him being a legend. One of my trainers was called Dave Butterworth (I think his last name was), though he was new to Special training as he was normally a Diversity PC trainer. The Dave I was referring to in my last post was Dave Bassett from stores :)

Ahh ok thanks thats right I have heard of Butterworth its coming back to me. I understand the new ones are also very good I was just lucky I guess to get DB before he left. Bertie Bassett is also a legend :)
