How many attempts do we get to keep applying for Special Constable? I have failed twice at the assessment centre now, I prepare for months and when it comes to the day I mess up :-(

As many as you want, as long as there is a 6 month gap (unless you receive a letter saying you are "banned" - Kent Police sent me one of these and I'm not allowed to join the force anymore :strop:).

I've made 14 police applications in 6 years, so you've got an awful lot of catching up to do!

The application process is not about you and your abilities, it's a test of your ability to "jump through hoops." Don't feel down about it - it's more about luck than anything else.

Why have they banned you from Kent police? because you have sent or failed that many times? it's wrong you should apply till you make it in the force. Why don't you appeal this letter? I would. I'm going to appeal my assessment result, I felt the woman in the interview was putting me off as after every question she kept saying, " is htere anything else" this made me feel all my answers where wrong. My writting skills are rubbish and under preassure it don't help, so I feel because I can't write properly they won't accept me, I passed my interview last time as well. I get my feedback on Monday so will see what they have to say.

I failed on the vetting and I appealed - the head of Kent & Essex Recruitment sent me a letter saying the appeal had failed... and they refuse to tell me why.

They basically told me to foxtrot oscar, but in a polite way :new_eyebrow:

I wouldn't appeal due to "feeling under pressure" - remember, as an officer you'll be faced with high-pressure situations. If you appeal saying "I don't do well under pressure" then you'll be shooting yourself in the foot!
