To be honest anyone who thinks any of the problems we have are unique to London what kind of rose-tinted glasses do you look at the rest of the world through??

It's also ranked as one of the worst cities in the world for getting lost in

Do I feel all rosy and nostalgic about it - not really. But it's my city and there is still something that I enjoy about working in it. Especially when you see a police vehicle on the opposite side of the River on a blue light run with the lights reflecting off the water and you find yourself wondering where they are going too, what they are going to do when they get there and why aren't I with them !!

New York is a fantastic place to go for me though. I've been many times and rarely ever felt uncomfortable there. Then again, NYC isn't a particularly big place in comparison to many major cities.

Nowhere more fun to get lost in, and at least its not some sterile toast rack. This place has character!Well it's funny that London is ranked amongst the worst capital cities in the EU for it's quality of life http://www.dailymail...U-capitals.html

I've always been rather proud of the fact that i cannot get lost in London.
However, Stratford underground station
I remember the original Stratford Station, the one who's ticket hall is still there but now buried underground!

Standing by for incoming from fellow Merseysiders, but I absolutely love London and miss it greatly. I have been up in Merseyside for over 6 months now and its not until you leave the big smoke you realise how good you had it.
Very true. It can be frustrating sometimes living here, but each time I go back up north for a few days I just want to be straight back down here.

Visiting other cities for a weekend or even a week isn't the same as living there for the length of time we spend in London.
It's interesting that generally tourists coming here rate London, particularly the tube, higher than Londoners do themselves.

The grass is always greener springs to mind...

Totally agree with the grass sentiment.
However, the tube thing is probably because they won't have to use it day in, day out, most likely won't have to deal with severe delays, and don't have to cram on it during rush hour to get to work every day! It is also the most expensive underground network in the world I believe.

Or maybe they realise that Londoners are spoilt with the tube. They have trains every couple of minutes, whereas most other people the best they could hope for is 10 minute intervals. And buses, londoners are spoilt with buses.
Trust me, if London's transport network was like most cities it would be far worse...
