We'll i've been waiting for a few weeks after the recruitment opened to see if anyone would start a topic and no one did, so i thought no harm in me doing it.
Up to 8 weeks!! i heard 3 to 4 once recruitment has closed.
i applied literally a day after the recruitment opened so its been a long wait for me...

May I ask when you submitted your application (rough date) rewriter? When I applied to Hants Constabulary early September last year, it took about 4 weeks to get an letter back saying thank you for applying, but that was with the old paper form.

I didn't apply until the new E-Recruitment system was in place, and then i applied on the 24th of February, but i was told that i wouldn't hear back until 3/4 weeks after recruitment closes which was on the 27th of march.

I'm new to the forum too and was going to ask the same question! I applied a few days before the new e-recruitment closed so about 3 1/2 weeks ago now. When I submitted the application it said I'd be hearing shortly but I didn't get an indication in terms of number of weeks. Sounds like you've had a long wait...

I have had ages to wait, weeks of checking my emails, I was also wondering how many people had actually applied? I would have thought it would be lots...

I would have thought lots too- before I finally sent the application off I had an email saying that they'd moved the closing date forward because of the large number of applications they'd received. Guess they must have heaps to get through!

Which makes me worry! If so many people have applied! It seems like such a hard process to get through!

I know- I feel just the same!! Sounds hard enough anyway... I guess lots of people will have applied who were waiting for the e-recruitment to be up and running

Seems there are lots of hurdles to fall at aswell, but most of the stories you see on here of people applying, they seem to pass.

That's true- guess the key is to be well prepared for each stage. I'd imagine you'd hear a while before me if you applied just after it opened so hope you don't have too much longer of waiting! Guess Easter will probably have extended the time a bit...

I'd have thought that they'd do the paper sort and decide who they want to send to interview and them email everyone?

Rewriter, I would contact the SC department, just to ease your worries. After I got my confirmation of application, I heard nothing formally from Hants till January this year, so a space of about 4 months of nothing. I dropped them an email in November to see where things at, and got told that I passed the sift, and was awaiting a assessment date which were being organised. Rosemary, I would hold on for a little bit, since its still quite recent since you've dropped your application in. The SC department are great people, so don't worry!

You get loads of time to prepare for each stage, from being told about my assessment, I had 3 weeks to prepare, and from passing of the assessment, i had a month to prepare for Fitness.

Hope this helps :new_shades:

Thanks! :new_shades: It actually isn't that long since I've applied in the scheme of things- think it just feels longer than it is!

Yup, its a long process but it's worth it in the end!

Mayday mentioned it earlier on in this thread, but do check out the Hampshire Constabulary area of PS.com, there is a whole wealth of infomation in there regarding the upcoming process, assessment centre, fitness etc etc, it really is worth a look! :new_shades:

i got a very fast reply from recruitment saying
'Good Afternoon

There has been a very high demand on the applications for Special Constables and we are dealing with these at present. I would ask for your patience at this time and we will contact you as soon as possible.

Many thanks'

so i assume its now just a waiting game.

Hey, well at least your application is in the system ready to be looked at, hopefully it won't take much longer, as I'm sure the SC department are working as hard as they can! Yours too Rosemary and Scottie! :w00t:
