Only submitted my application last week so still waiting.
Out of curiousity, how long did it take for them to screen your application? I appreciate it could be a while but interested to know.

Hello :-) it took about 3-4 weeks for them to come back to me, but it depends how busy there are I guess, but good luck tho :-)
Great, about what I expected - thanks
Hope some other people come along to this thread soon...

If you don't hear from recruitment after about 4 weeks, pop them an email. They are always very helpful and will let you know what stage your application is at

Thanks, I will do.
Should I be expecting a response by email or by letter?

All responses are done by e-mail, but if you need to contact them, don't bother e-mailing (they never responded to mine). RING them before 15:00.

Cheers. I always like to ring people anyway - it's good to talk and you generally get a better response.
At least now I know to keep checking my emails, rather than having that little bit of hope when I hear the postman come...

In terms of the written test, don't "overthink" it. Too many people think too hard about the content and trying to impress, rather than keeping it simple and to the point. Chances are you'll have to write a letter, so keep the basics in mind: Dear Mr / Mrs, Re: your letter dated xyz, address the issue and then sign off properly.
Also, try not to use big words and keep it simple - you're not going to get extra marks for posh words, but you will lose marks for spelling them wrong! Therefore, simple English is best.
Final point: customer service, customer service, customer service.
Good luck and make sure you let us know how it goes
