Just wondering,

have many of you put an application into the regulars since recruitment has opened back up?

If so, how quickly have they gotten back to you, and if they have gotten back to you, are you at the SET/fitness/interview stage?

Just trying to find out how quickly or slowly the process is going.

I shall be putting mine in as soon as June is here, as long as recruitment is still open.

Cheers,

Craig

It is for Strathclyde. I have to wait until June, as I was sworn in last June, and Jackton have told me that I have to wait a year after being sworn in before I can move into, or apply for the regs. :w00t:

Only a few weeks left tho.

To get an invite to your SET/Fitness I'd say it's about a 4-6 week wait roughly, then 1-2 weeks after SET for initial.

Depends. If they have a large backlog they usually send a letter saying 'we have it but haven't looked at it yet'. Otherwise you'll get invited for your SET, assuming you pass the papersift......

Is the papersift when they bin all the applicants that dont make the grade? Probaly like everyone else i think my app was good. Used alot of experience i got when i was in the army for 6 years, especially out in Iraq. Hopefully hear something soon

Yeah the papersift is the first round of checking where they go through the app and check it for things like spelling, grammer and that its been fully completed. There's also a scoring system based on key words and phrases and stuff like that. Its not impossible to fail but if you've put the effort in and checked your app thoroughly you should be fine. Good luck!

Recruitment will have a lot of applications to go through as they've been recruiting since February. I'm sure you'll hear something further soon.

I applied on for the regulars on 12th August. I've received the 'we have it' letter but nothing so far. They've finally set a closing date on applications now so thinking things might start moving a bit. I know they have a huge backlog at the moment so figure it will be a while but want to make sure I'm totally ready when the time comes! Has anyone heard anything after the initial letter yet?

I got asked on the phone to resend my application for whatever reason, but the woman said to make sure I was prepared for the next stage by ensuring I was fit enough and that I had looked over the Mock tests. I've taken this as a pass of the vetting stage :S

Nope, in terms of the recruitment process vetting comes after your SET/Fitness.

Was this confirmation through the post? and by any chance are you a special? I thought that maybe specials would be taken first because they don't need to redo the mock sets?
