Hello All :D

I thought I would make a post as it seems everything has gone a bit quiet on the D&C page :(

So I shall start off by asking... What stage is everyone at at the moment:

Are some of you waiting for your assessment day in May (good luck if you are!)
Anyone heard when the next training dates are from the previous recruitment (I'm waiting on vetting at the moment  !)
Any specials thinking of applying for the regulars somewhere in the country (apart from obviously within D&C  )

If anyone has anything else to say or ask questions!!

From me who is very bored with clearly took much time on my hands :blu:

Hi James

Thanks for the reply was getting worried that everyone had left D&C!!

Good luck next month. Advice - read the booklet they give you over and over again and make sure every answer that you prepare for the interview demonstrates every bit on each page for respect for r&d, resilience etc.

The dissertation is a nightmare. Got a week to go so just trying to plough through!! Why I chose to choose such a difficult topic I'll never know!!??

All the best :aok:

Sweet yeah that's what I've been doing so can't be going too far off the track. Yeah dissertation isn't easy but comes with great reward. Hope it goes well. Try and find me on fb and can maybe chat more. Need a wee bit more support. :-)

Hi Sparky1990 and welcome!

Advice - take some water in with you in case you get a frog in your throat! Also read and read about the main topics race and diversity, team working etc...

Good luck and be yourself!!

Hey everyone,

I had a phone call a few weeks ago and I'm just waiting for the letters through now about the July training. Is anyone else on the July training intake?

Cheers :new_yummy:

Yeh I got my training dates through the post whilst the forum was down. I've had to go into Middlemoor for hep b injections and to sort out my I.D photograth in that time aswell . The induction weekend is 20th 21st and 22nd july. Would be worth giving them a ring they were able to tell me vaguely when I would be starting .I'm from cullompton so not too far to travel.

So I rang them up and they said 'we are not sure when the next training dates will be...'

I think someone is going to get back to me. I should think my vetting is finished, I sent it off in Jan/Feb...

It takes ages but I'd have thought they'd have done your vetting by now. I know there is a backlog though because I rang up in January to see if I was in the March intake and they said there was a backlog so the next would be in July. The one after that is November (a friend I know couldn't make the July date and thats what they told him).

I'm from Taunton but I'm at Exeter uni. Apparenlty the stations in Exeter are all full so they gave me Crediton (Ottery St. Mary was another choice but she thought there would be more going on in Crediton).

Well last time I rung up they only mentioned November training so I wonder whether they only invite people from certain areas if some are full?
Would have been nice to do it in July but November I suppose gives me time to sort my life out considering I just finished Uni!

It isn't a very organised system, let be honest :new_sweat:

People who apply and waited a year at the same time as people who had waited a few months..

Got a feeling I'll be waiting a long time for my dates.. :duur:

It is a bit but then I wonder whether some people go through quicker because they may need more people for the area they come from, if that makes sense?
I think I'll be waiting until November now which I suppose doesn't bother me because at least I won't be sitting in a red hot classroom during the summer!! :)

Hi everyone

I recently passed the 12th May assessment centre and am now waiting to take part in the fitness test in July.

I was wondering (if I pass the fitness test) what the next stage in the process is?

If you pass you will be given lots of vetting forms to fill out. Complete them and send them back asap. Then its just a waiting game

Thanks for that, I know I'm probably getting a bit ahead of myself as I still need to complete the fitness test stage but I like to know what to expect!
What stage are you at?
