I played it for the first month and then just gave up because it got too repetative. When you first start the game it looks great and the voice acting is done really well, but it feels like a single player game with extra players running around in it.
I've just started getting back into Star Wars Galaxies again, www.swgemu.com is starting to shape up very well. They are trying to remake SWG from long before the hell of the NGE hit. It will be hitting the Alpha stage next week and hopefully do a version 1 release in a few months.

Yeah, played it from launch.
Really good, more single-player during the leveling though. Voice acting and cinematics are as good, if not better than most offline games and you follow a properly written story/quest rather than grinding randomly.
PM me your email and I'll invite you, also going to be free to play soon.

Thanks MrDSP - I did end up buying it in the end and playing for a couple of months. It eventually lost its lustre for me, there are some clever parts but it doesn't really do too much genuinely new things for the genre. Guild Wars 2 looks a little more interesting on that front.

Sorry, I didn't realize I'd resurrected an old thread!
Yeah, I know what you mean. There is so much missing for the lure they have to play with... and the budget! Just been accepted in the Planetside 2 closed BETA so my SWTOR days might be over
