I currently have the Magnum Stealth Force 8.0 WPI boots, but sadly the stitching on the inside has become ripped.

I'm interested in some waterproof Altbergs - any recommendations?

EDIT: Attached links as to where they can be bought from would be great.

bear in mind that aqua boots can be warm in summer. I wear thickish socks but always put some talcum powder in, helps reduce moisture and blisters.

I have the sneaker aquas and have been very happy with them. I wear them for work, my reservist duties and often go for runs (and bike rides) in them. Solid enough but flexible and light. i was worried when i ordered them that they would be too trainer like or have thin leather but its not the case. They really are the perfect all rounder and if i ever need to replace them (can get them re-soled by the manufacturer so if I replace them it will be because they are a decade old, they are 2 years old now and still as good as new, just comfier! ) slightly heavier, but more sturdy are the alt berg warriors.

I believe alt-bergs tend to come up slightly small, so you might appreciate ordering half a size over your normal trainer size. Oh, and the leder gris (polish) they recommend is very good for when you are breaking your boots in- you can use kiwi once they are properly broken in for a shine if you want.

Not going lto post links, but I ordered from silvermans online. Only because I wanted them sharpish, and they did next day delivery. There are cheaper places. Main ones are amazon, cadet direct and combatservicesupplies.

I didnt get boots from there but have bought plenty of my military kit from www.polimil.co.uk- it looks too good to be true (and the website is basic) as they are almost always cheaper than other sites but so far I have bought oakley sunglasses, snuckpack bag, softie jacket,a sleeping bag, and 2 sets of gloves from there. Customer service good too when I had to change the colour of lenses on the ordered sunglasses.

I've just got a pair of Alterbergs (Peacekeeper P1's) in the mail today.

I've always worn Magnums before and been really dissapointed with the quality of the boot, and always found them slightly narrow. With the Altbergs, you can choose boot width, and these fit me like a dream!

They haven't been tested operationally yet however, so once I've jumped in some puddles and had a few foot chases, I shall report back!

Warrior Aqua Mk2s are bullet proof! Had mine 18+ months and they haven't missed a beat! I originally ordered mine directly from the factory but Altberg changed the shipping date 2 days before I was due to start training and left me in it a little bit (through no fault of their own, they were very apologetic, they should be really when youre dropping towards £160 on a pair of boots) and pointed me to:

http://www.johnbullc...cts.asp?ID=2098

Phoned them up directly to check they had the Warriors in stock which they did, told them my predicament and they said they would send the boots next day delivery for nout. Next morning came around, knock on my door at about 1100, boots as promised along with an extra tin of polish and a pair of 1000mile socks (I had a look on then net and they were worth about £13.99)!

Word of warning, they are abit diffiult to drive in because of their hard soles, but you soon get use to it. I also almost put a door in without meaning to when I was using the old "back to the door, bray on it with you foot" trick :p

I have two pairs of the Sneeker Aqua's, they're also standard issue to our firearms and dog handlers.

Absolutely can't fault them and I've had them over 3 years. Very very comfy, easy to drive in, comfy when on foot, good grip, lightweight, totally waterproof.

Pricey, but they'll last you a long time. Exceptional boot.

How are they when the weather is a little warmer? I've heard a few people complain that their feet get a bit too hot in warmer weather with those boots.

Iv'e also heard the Alberg aqua range can be a bit hot in warmer weather. I wear Alberg field and fell originals but keep them water proof with plenty of leder gris or dubbin.

I can confirm after much puddle jumping and mud stomping that they are very much water resistant!

They're also very very comfortable, and with them being able to produce a wide fit, a perfect size! All in all, I'm very impressed with them so far.

Well I've just taken delivery of some warrior aqua microlites, (thanks to a PS.com member (Thanks)), I've walked the dog in them and they are a nice fit and look like they are made to a good quality standard.

I'll test them properly tomorrow, though I think I'm going to be happy with them.

I did worry about the Aqua-aspect causing problems in the summer, but took the plunge regardless and haven't looked back. The way I saw it you spend more time in this country being cold or wet than basking in glorious sunshine, and i'd rather have sweaty feet at the end of a shift than cold or wet feet mid-way through!

I honestly haven't noticed a problem, no more sweaty or *ahem* moist than any other boot, but far more waterproof.

Well I didn't get to test how waterproof they are, but they are a fantastic boot. Comfy, well made and I'm sure are as waterproof as my Magnums are. All in all, well happy with them.
