Anyone know if there's a timelimit to how far back you can claim expenses?
The general rule is 3 months, however you can go back further if you can explain why, ie under trainign at Sedgley and been advised to wait until you get to your division.
Simply state the reason for the late submission on a 733 and enclose it with your expenses.

Foxy I've already advised via PM.
That maybe, but how about sharing the knowledge with the rest of the Specials form GMP you may benefit from this ?
It is not of operational importance and therefore no need to keep it a secret.

If GMP SCs require info they need only ask their own supervision direct, as my team do.
I would agree with your statement above.
So do we take it that this was the extent of your reply to the post or did you feel the need to actually provide the information requested.
If it were that simply, there would not be a need for forums such as this.
We all know that the information should be available from the supervison, but how many times do find that the supervision either don't know or just make it up as they go along.

Yes I did feel the need to provide the info as it was requested by a GMP officer and on that note I certainly do not fall into your closing statement, if I can't answer a question asked I find out and refer back.

nobody is suggesting you don't provide the information. You are right to provide the information to the officer and anyone else who may need it.
Foxy was only doing likewise and it seem a little rude to try and slap someone down for trying to help others with a response of "i've already advised via PM".
Firstly Foxy wasn't to know the question had already been answered, as it was obviously done via PM.
Secondly, why not share the information with the rest of the forum; as the answer is not "restricted" information.
I do accept the point that all the Specials should be able to ask their supervision and they should be able to expect the correct answer, but we have all experienced a number of Special supervision that simply don't have a clue. Yes you may fall into the group of supervisors that do know the answers and if not will then find out the information; but please remember there are a lot out there that simply don't.
The forum is simply a place to discuss matters, share information and help each other out wherever possible, as I'm sure you will agree.

I wasnt slapping any body down, trust me if I did it would be more apparent and not done on here
I will share certain info on here but when it relates to policy, however small the issue, then I will do so via PM. The officer will still receive an answer as will anybody else who needs assistance.

There is the answer to the expenses question - thanks! Let's stay on topic or David might shout
