Hi, new to the site, passed my pirt, fitness test and medical all before december and unfortunately due to the course type got to wait till end of June for the alternate weekend course. Just wondering if anyone else is down to do this course?

Hi Liam,

Gongratulations on passing all the stages, i know of another person in the same situation as yourself, he is just waiting for a confirmed training date.

Hi Liam,

I passed all the stages before December and last I spoke to anyone was right at the beginning of January, when I as allocated on an alternate weekend course. Sadly, due to work commitments, I had to turn it down and got told at the time it would be a long wait for further courses to come up, particularly the Sunday-only and Wednesday-only courses (which I need). I phoned HR this week and they no longer seem to deal with training at all, so I called one of the epc trainers who told me he'd get back to me, and that I shouldn't have been left waiting since January. Also don't forget the Olympics are coming up and training is highly unlikely to carry on through this - the Met for example, have halted all courses until September now. Keep waiting, it's all part of the fun...

Yeah, I spoke with with Anita in March and have an email saying the end of June for the alternate weekend course, I was told the end of September when I spoke with HR in January. Will be an interesting wait to see what happens, nice to know I am not alone. Thanks wannabe, have had a glance at the blog, will have a proper read when I get some dates.

Got a phone call from Essex police last week and been told I start training on the 30th June, cannot wait to start now

Congrats to the guys who are starting their training on the 30th June.

Just be warned. EPTC will be a hive of activity that day. There is a fundraising event for one of our Special Constables. Don't be put off by everyone having fun outside, or the live bands. Knuckle down, study hard, and if you're good, you can come join the party afterwards.

If you haven't got anything in writing regarding training...don't fret, I made a call yesterday and they are sending out letters slowly now, expect to get it next week. That's what I was told!

Heard from essex police today, got a phone call asking for my email address and about an hour later recieved my offer letter. Going for a pre-induction day on the 21st and just waiting for uniform stores to get back to me for a date. Can't wait for training to begin on the 30th June now.

Glad things are going ahead for you Liam.

Scratch the previous post I made if anyone read it - received an email this morning with the go ahead so I'm all set! Two weeks to go!

Nice one, was going to say that would be a little harsh, I had my medical and fitness test in October last year. Also got my uniform fitting next thurs too, has come round soo quick.

Congratulations on both getting your offers, thats it now then fun really begins.

Remember that my blog when i trained at Essex is still live and if you want a refresher or what to expect dont forget to read it, it will prepare you that is if the training has not changed.
