Hi all,

I have passed my MSC Day 2 and am now awaiting more information regarding training courses. Apparently, with the Olympics looming, they will only be offering intensive training courses? (If so, this is fine by my as long as it's after 3rd May as it's my last university exam!) Could anybody shed some light as to what will happen from here on? i.e. training etc.

Thank you!

mk

Hi mknapp,

Can I just confirm that this was for the MET?

If so the best place for an answer in relation to your question is here:

http://www.policespe...-police-london/

It also includes lots of useful information which may relate to your query.

I'm afraid if you've not had your dates already it's not especially likely that you will train before the Olympics.

Of course there could still be places left in some of the training dates before the Olympics, but I was told that spaces fill up very quickly.

After the Olympics, full training should resume, i.e a choice of weekend, hybrid and intensive courses.

Just to clarify, there will not be any MSC training over the entire course of the Olympics, or so I have been told.

L Plates:

I was told I would hear about my training date in 4-6 weeks and immediately start an intensive course. I know that whilst the Olympics are on they are not offering any types of training, but I assumed they would try to push me in for the 'last' training before the Olympics? Of course I might be wrong, I hope not though, I really want to start asap!

HR obviously know more than me.

If they say you can get on one of the late courses I don't see why not!

The last intensive training course for the MET before the Olympics is Mon 11th June 2012 Wednesday 11th July 2012 so if your vetting and references come back ok and quickly and there is still space on the course you could get onto it :)
