Hi Folks,

as you may or may not know "Cuddles" the not so Cuddly Mod has had to stop running the monthly photography competitions due to a lack of time. He has done a fantastic job and has agreed to continue doling out the much coveted "moderators award" to the winners of the new competition.

I have taken up the vacant post of competition organiser/supremo.

I promise not to rig the votes in my favour.... honest!

The new competition will be starting on April 1st (no.... honestly!)

The entry criteria and format will remain the same. (the photos must be hosted on flickr and shared in the monthly topic)

I will also maintain a monthly topic "wall of fame" where winners entries will be posted along with the topic details etc in order to keep a record.

Just to say thanks to Cuddles, as he steps down, for starting the competition. As someone just starting out in photography it has been nice to have a subject to think about each month.

Right, andrew999 won the January competition - Andrew, did you pick the subject for Feb? I seem to remember it's being run in arrears.

Sparkydale won the Feb competition so if Andrew999 has already chosen, then it's Sparkydale's turn to choose the subject and we don't need Myky at all. Same rules apply.

I'll PM Andrew and check with him.

As I haven't heard from Andrew and the month is starting to slip by, I propose that Sparkydale (Feb's winner) chooses the subject for this month so we can have the comp up and running again.

Is everyone in agreement?

Usual rules:


1 - The submitted photograph must be your own work.

2 - Group members may only submit one entry per month to the competition.

3 - Minimal retouching is allowed (brightening, sharpening, smart fix etc.) but entries that have been retouched to the extent that they appear completely unnatural will not be considered.

4 - The photograph must be taken between 01/1/2012 and 23/04/2012.

5 - By entering the competition you consent to the photograph being posted on the PoliceSpecials.com forum to allow members to vote for the winner.


The entries will be displayed on the PoliceSpecials.com forum from 23/04/12 and 30/04/12 and PS.com members will be able to vote for their favourite.

The winner will be the photograph with the most votes at the end of the voting period and the winner will have a nice shiny achievement award on their profile for one month.

The subject for this month's competition, as picked by Sparkydale is "TEXTURE"

To enter you need to create a free account on Flickr and then you simply upload your photograph to Flickr and add the photograph to this topic using the "grab the bbcode" function on Flickr, making sure that you select the "Medium 640" option. Please ensure that sharing is enabled as that means I can add your photo as a clickable link on the voting topic and this will enable voters to see your photo in its full glory.
