Its not that the avatars used to be blocked or need blocking…it's the default place holder they have added onto every account that hasn't got an avatar.








To be honest it seems a bit daft and a waste of resources adding a default avatar onto the accounts – it might not be the biggest image but it still adds to the server load.And a separate issue, but have you ensured that html is disabled for users?When using the quote button there's certain tags in there that shouldn't really be there, or shouldn't work for me – most forums would block them from working, due to the risk of malicious code being injected. Example:This is what's behind the quote I have done above, and by behind I mean within the comment box I can submit – page breaks, paragraph tags.

In fact and after using preview, you can add code tags not working onto the list as well.

and add the edit feature converting tags into html, but unlike below it does block certain html - so the bb board image tag will then be converted into html image tag, get blocked and become a url instead.

There is no 'New Topics' icon next to the force areas, means I have to click in to check - not a massive issue but i was used to scanning down to see if there was anything i needed to check.

The forums will show up in bold if they have unread posts, if there are no unread posts they show up normal.

The green 'PINNED' and 'POLL' icons look far too similar in my opinion. When I open a forum I bypass the old 'PINNED" threads and look for the first one without a 'PINNED' icon next to it; in doing so i've now been bypassing a few new topics which have polls attached.

Can the 'POLL' and 'PINNED' indicators be made distinctive..?

I think the issues I've noticed have already been mentioned but I'll post them again.

• I'm still seeing adverts - I have tried using my iphone on safari and also on a webOS tablet (using the full version of the site not mobile). Not checked using a mainstream browser on my PC. I still see the large banner at the top of the page (on all pages) and also on the index page I see an advert telling me to become a poweruser.
  
• The forum doesn't automatically take you to the last new unread post in a thread, meaning a lot of going through posts. This was especially annoying when on my phone.
  
• I can't seem to get the forum to work with the IPB app for Iphone. I'm running the latest version of the app and my phone is fully updated. I get an HTTP error 404.

Only thing I have noticed is that I can ignore all signatures apart from those of mods. Why can we not ignore them too? Really speeds up browsing without the awful signatures!

I'm sure there's information missing in the sidebars now? It still shows a user's poscount, but I'm sure there's other stuff missing.

Also, can we put the avatar size back up to what it was?


EDIT: Oh, and get rid of the lines around the avatar? Looks very messy...

Hmm odd, I've not noticed that at all. At least, not from the main forum index screen, if I click a topic on there, it automatically takes me to the first unread post of that thread.

From the sub forums however, Locker Room for example, Clicking on the topic title takes me to the first post, and clicking on the time/date of the last post takes me, unsurprisingly, to the last post. But then, the last version of the forum did that too.

I'm using Chrome if that helps anyone narrow anything down at all. I've not actually tried from my phone.

Hmm, ok, this is now officially weird. Just turned off adblock and can't see any advertisements (apart from the sponsor banners for the usual forums) with Chrome, but if I open the site in MSIE or Safari I do get the adverts.

Quotes working for me too, and no "(null)" in any of my posts either

Nope. Functionality like that is what comes with the forum, I'm afraid - impossible to please all the people all the time!

Perhaps Lucas North can change the colour of one of them?!

Can we at least ignore their signatures or is that not something the software allows? As I said, it really does speed up the browsing process by not displaying sigs.

Some are stars and some are circles, I have no idea what the difference is but I'm sure I will get the hang of it eventually!

One thing I don't like is Birthdays located at the top of the sidebar, seems a bit floaty and pointless. I know it's nice being able to tell when members birthdays are but I just get a list of random usernames at the top. I think it should be swapped with most recent.

And how do i insert a hyperlink and change it to say something understandable rather than a web address?

Might be obvious, but can't seem to find the answer.

Also the "Like This" button seems really floaty out there on it's own! Another thing is the user information area next to each post... seems to stretch brief posts quite a lot. Quite evident in this thread. Seems like 3/4 of people's posts are their signatures / user information and 1/4 is their actual post

There is a lot of space in between the person's username and the post number... perhaps this could be utilised with some small icons to represent that the person is a serving officer or has contributed to the site? And then awards would be used for things like "User has made a great post / thread" kind of thing?

You can still do public polls, there's a tick box to the right of where you type in the poll title
