I recently took part in 2.8 hours later in Glasgow where you have to survive a zombie type apocalypse.

Thankfully I got to the end and survived so I am pretty safe for when a real apocalypse happens!

How do these types of events work?

I'd have thought it was tricky picking out the zombies from the Glaswegians... :saint:

We would be screwed if it was not zombie's but the infected from 28 day's late, they used to scare the hell out of me when i was younger.

Also thought i would post this as well interesting read about it being possible.

Yeah- but...if they are the 28 day slater zombies, and we found a way to hide/survive, we'd have to do so for a much shorter amout of time. Running about will use more energy, whereas a slow walk will use less energy in general.

That's if we can out run something that will likely not give up sprinting as easily as we might.

Here is a interesting read about them.

The Rage virus causes its hosts to permanently enter a primal state of murderous rage and attempt to spread the infection or kill the uninfected above all else, even self-preservation.

The Infected are reduced to an animalistic state of permanent hostility and aggression, driving them to attack non-infected with no concern for their own safety and no moral or other inhibitions that could control their actions and behaviour.

In this state of permanent and extreme psychosis, the brain is continuously pumping adrenaline into the host's system, giving the Infected huge powers of endurance and super-human strength, but at the same time placing enormous stress on their metabolism, which alongside their disregard for their own safety, leads to eventual death through physical exhaustion, coma and/or starvation. The Infected experience spasms in the extremities, and their irises become blood red. They also vomit copious amounts of infected blood as well as violently gibbering for reasona unknown

Pretty interesting. And the most likely type of zombie virus I expect.

Yeah it was pretty difficult to guess between the actor zombies and the real life zombies which roam the streets of Glasgow on a daily basis.

Basically how it works - You have a start point and are given a map and a set of co-ordinates which you have to make your way to, on the way there you have certain locations which are filled with Zombies, if you get caught you get a UV pen to the hand but continue on till the end and once at the end they check to see if you have been marked. On the way through the event you have different locations to attend and help different survivors who in return give you new co-ordinates.

Seems like a good laugh, might try and get a few mates together and take part in the the next one.

Are you given weapons, like on one of the websites I saw?

No weapons, no physical contact apart from the zombies allowing to tag you. It is conducted as safe as possible. Really good fun and I would recommend keeping an eye out to see if it swings past an area close to you!

Interesting how alot of plans are fairly similar.

Red: Hey, Sarge, do you have a Zombie plan?
Sarge: No.
Red: Why no...
Sarge: I have 32 Zombie plans, 31 one of which involve using your freshly dead corpse as bait.
Red: Oh...

Classic Red vs. Blue! My plan is a hybrid of Grif's, Symmonds' and Sarge's. Stock up on the shot gun ammo, hide in the attic until I think it is safe to come out but have the attic stocked with enough supplies to last me quite a while, then maybe head somewhere like an island with supplies and shotgun ammo. And just at the start of the apocolypse I will befriend someone I actually hate and then use their corpse as pedigree chump to distract zombies.

I admit there are several flaws in this plan, however it is only in Beta form
