Oh boy, well i would head to the police station and try to break in, then i would start making it safe with some other survivors if the is any. here is the layout for the station, me and my friend who are zombie freaks always talk about a good place to hold up.

This place is great big high fence, Wood yard next to it, supermarket just up the street what more could you ask for.

All of you are, quite frankly, wrong. Obviously attempting to be a zombie walt is the correct answer.

Ok people,

You see something strange on the new about people attacking random passer by but the MO of the attack seem rather strange in that the attacker seem to biting the IP's which resualts in the IP running a fever and then passing away shortly, but then there dead bodies have been seen attacking Medical staff but this is yet to be confirmed buy the Local or national goverment.

A state of emergency is decleared in your city/town and you get the call you've been dreading, that calls from your Station calling you in to help with the current emergency, the question is do you go and carry out your duty or do you not pick up?

Also live on a 2nd floor, so I'm safe.

What's that got to do with it? They're zombies, not Daleks! :)

My plan is fairly simple.
  • Get out of the city as fast as possible, taking as much food, water and ammunition as I possibly can.
  • Find somewhere in the countryside to hole up.
  • Use my super awesome Ray Mears stye bushcraft skills to construct a palace log cabin.
  • Survive for a few months and emerge as leader of the free world.
Job done. :)

I live near a lot of farms so hopefully if it does all kick off, they are the first places I'm heading to due to the likely hood of them owning a shotgun or 6 with plenty of ammo. If I ever feel the need to go out and about I'll make sure to take a combine harvester for the sheer fact, if I come across a mass horde I'm turning on those front blades and going to town on the walking dead  (might aswell get creative in how I slice and dice them if I get a chance).

I'd definitely be heading to my station though, as we have a few gadgets that could come in handy to use as perimeter alerts to give some heads up as to any possible zombie intrusion as early as possible. When I could then, I'd head to Castell Coch (Google it) as it would act as a nice little hide out, and easily defendable if needs be.

Let me redo mine more sensibly ( if that's possible with the scenario )

Get my bow and go raid my school for the thousands of arrows they have, as they have an archery club only 10 or so people go to, then I would Go home and stay tight with stored food I have for about a week or so, after everything has died down a little I would starting raiding my streets houses as they would be long gone. - if not join with them.

Then I would go to my closest gun store about 20 minutes away and take a marlin rifle, take ammo, by force if needed with my other crossbow ( I have that aswell as a bow ) , Then plant some food with seeds I have and get more, survive self efficient for a couple of months and if things have not started to come to normal, demolish all houses next to mine and build a massive fort, and then take in survivors. bam, I win.

Except if you follow the Zombie Survival Guide's guidelines and break the stairs so they can't climb up to get you. And Daleks can hover up and down staircases :aok:

But what if the guide is wrong - it's just a guide, after all! Not really the best time to find out that zombies have adapted to missing staircases... besides, they can just climb up each other!

(And yes, I know about Daleks, but it was the best thing I could think of at the time!)

Zombie "canon" says they generally have trouble with stairs so you should be safe.

Yes it was a spoiler but the comics have been around for years and many fans know the story already.
There are some differences between the comics and the TV show so there still some surprises in both. (i.e. little Sophia was never turned into a zombie and put in the barn in the comics. She lasted a lot longer than that) In fact, although I'm quite some way through the comics Sophia is still alive and may still be today.
Dale also escaped the farm and was going strong for a while.

Dale did indeed survive the farm in the comic. If memory serves me right. He was bit and amputated the limb to try and stop the zombie process.

But if I get there early and go on my own I survive a higher possibility of avoidiing contact and it will be quicker and quieter.

Just had a quick flick through the comics, Dale had his lower leg amputated to prevent coming a zombie following a bite.

I've been reading TWD comics too. I've finished number 6 (and in true TWD spirit, they cost a hand and a leg :)).

I've become scarily immersed in Zombie Lore, it's really interesting because it's the most realistic and most terrifying of most apocalypse scenarios, in my opinion. There's actually a Zombie Studies course at an American University, and people who are part of a Zombie think tank (but they also take 'zombie apocalypse' to mean any kind of apocalypse, and that's what they prepare for). Fascinating really.

I recently took part in 2.8 hours later in Glasgow where you have to survive a zombie type apocalypse.

Thankfully I got to the end and survived so I am pretty safe for when a real apocalypse happens!
