Exactly what it says on the tin- What's your plan? Everyone has one, so c'mon, help the rest of humanity out :aok:

I may or may not have watched The Walking Dead within the past 10 minutes

Was looking for the link to that full body riot police gear someone posted today.

The reviews said it was great to fend off zombie attacks

Surely if we told you it would no longer be a good plan as you might copy it....

What I would not do is 'Split up into groups'... We all know how well that always works out...

I had this conversation in a patrol car with my partner for the night. We decided that:

1) Gather family if you can
2) Head to our nick, a brand new super-station or our firearms ops depot.
3) Secure ourselves in the custody suite, which is apparently built to withstand terrorist attacks, NBCW attacks etc etc. It also has a massive stash of food, hardwired comms, its pretty much self sufficient.
4) Radio for help and wait to see what happens.

We decided that it would all depend on the type of zombies and how people become infected..............................it was a veeeery quiet night!

Well I'd be seeing if I could get myself on a nuclear submarine. Failing that I'd be gathering as much weaponry as possible. Zombies can be killed with a sharp blow to the head. Assuming that holds true then I've got a good number of construction tools which could be used for that, After that I'd be very keen to considering long term communications. So I'd be looking to get a battery/wind up radio which could be used to receive government emergency broadcasts. I'd also be looking to gather as much food as possible. Preferably stuff which is going to last long term, so canned foods, freeze dried, things which don't require refrigeration if possible. I'd also be looking to get as much water as possible. The last points are actually what the Government used to advise people to do in the event of a nuclear device being dropped on the country. I'd then be looking to go to a strong hold which could function off grid as far as possible (ie without utilities). I can think of a few places. Then I'd be looking to reinforce that strong hold as much as possible and handily since most of my weaponry from earlier could double in helping me with that then it shouldn't be too hard. I'd want to try to avoid contact as much as possible by staying holed up as long as possible. I'd be trying to look for any patterns in zombie behaviour which could allow me to come out of my strong hold and find other survivors, materials, equipment, food, drink, medical supplies without coming into contact with the zombies.

I have a copy of the Zombie Survival Guide on my kindle, so I'm all set up.

Also live on a 2nd floor, so I'm safe.

Interesting how alot of plans are fairly similar.

Red: Hey, Sarge, do you have a Zombie plan?
Sarge: No.
Red: Why no...
Sarge: I have 32 Zombie plans, 31 one of which involve using your freshly dead corpse as bait.
Red: Oh...

Couple of interesting facts- If a Zombie apocalypse did occur it's been estimated that it would take about 68 days for the entire planet to become infected. Secondly- if there is an Apocalypse it couldn't last more than 4 months, depending what type of zombie you get (humans infected with Rage virus, or slow reanimated corpses)- because they'd run out of energy.

My plan- depending on the type of zombie i'd wait for a short while and gather close combat weapons before legging it to a Police Station where upon, if deserted i'd get hold of PSU gear and move to a Wholesalers. Barricade myself in. Wait for all this to blow over. Hog lumps?

I'd put a nail through the baseball bat in my garage and go to town on some un-dead folk.

Failing that:

Blat down the motorway to B&Q, pick up some wood. Stop off at the nick for some kit. Hit up a shop on the way back.
Board up all the ground floor windows and doors in my house.

After that I'd be reasonably safe, house isn't in a densely populated area, clear lines of sight front and back. Then would set it up with a series of fall back dead locks on the doors, finishing in the loft.

Other than that, carry on with life as normal.

I was wondering when this would start :clapping:

I would start by avoiding any calls from the nick to call me to duty, as you know that the front lines of police and army will be over ruun really quickly.

Pop to the station and pick up my gear, and a Public order van, gather food and water.

head to the middle of nowhere and RZ with my team those who make it thats is.

Grab my bow and my arrows and stay in doors for a week or so until my preprepared rations have gone, then raid every house I see to survive and long term grow food etc.. to do with zombies why fight them? just lock your door and its good, its the living you have to take care of Posted Image

Assuming they're the sort of zombie whereby infection spreads through a bite/scratch/blood etc, fighting them up close would be a very bad idea.

Anything short of firearms would probably result in you eventually becoming infected and/or eaten.

On that basis, I'd head straight down to the local army barracks and do some serious brown nosing :)

Oh boy, well i would head to the police station and try to break in, then i would start making it safe with some other survivors if the is any. here is the layout for the station, me and my friend who are zombie freaks always talk about a good place to hold up.

This place is great big high fence, Wood yard next to it, supermarket just up the street what more could you ask for.

Maybe somewhere that doesn't have the doors and most of the first floor made out of glass...

The main window's are too far off the ground for a zombie to get in but the main entrance is a room with a heavy door that would hold.

I used to have very little time for zombie movies from George Romero and such.
I thought it was the same old repetitive rubbish.
How long are you supposed to remain surprised at a zombie suddenly appearing from around a corner and biting a victim?

But The Walking Dead TV series has really got me gripped. I love this show as it allows character development.

But if the dead were to come back in reality I think it's very unlikely they would be permitted to take over the world before the authorities lost control (except for the UK governed by the present bunch of clowns!)

Yeah, but there are still plenty of glass doors and windows at ground level. Plus unless you have blackout blinds for all of those windows how are you going to stay in there without attracting all kinds of undead every time you use a light? :new_eyebrow:
