Was just wondering when the induction will be for the specials and what it consists of? As I know there are quite a few people on the waiting list including me, who've passed the selection process and now have been waiting for months and months for a starting date to begin training.

It doesn't matter how many times or in how many ways this question is asked, the answer will always be the same. If you have worries about when you're going to start training, speak to the recruitment team. Yes, it is unfortunate that you have been waiting for so long, but I don't think any posts on here will give you the encouraging news that you're hoping for. We know as much as you do, probably less to be honest considering you're the one in the recruitment process at the moment. I don't mean to come across as rude, but it has to be said that any good news you were hoping for when starting this topic will (probably) not be forthcoming on here.

Having said that, if you do find anything out then please post it as there will be plenty of people in the same boat as you, simply looking for answers. So, anything promising (or even negative) by all means don't be put off from posting it, and that goes for everyone

Sorry for having an opinion on the progress of my application.. All I wanted to know was if people are in the same boat as me and if they have any news. I have contacted recruitment several times regrading this as to keep track/progress of my application. I'm not looking for any arguments or rudeness. Just for news from people in the same situation as me.

I was waiting for 10 months for west mids police to start up, then applied to staffordshire police specials in december and found out today that I passed there A/C I have my medical next month and iv heard training will start the month after, im so glad that im going through the recruitment process with staffordshire police now.
best of luck with the west mids, all I can say was that I was sick of waiting and started the recruitment process all over again, best of luck when you do start your training.

Believe me, I was not trying to argue with you in any way, I was merely telling you something that you didn't want to hear, in that we don't know when you will be allowed to start training or attend an induction etc. Whether you can take news that you didn't want to hear or not is a different story. The only reason that I posted was due to the many previous threads in this section about waiting for recruitment etc that get started periodically, receive about 3 replies which all say 'we don't know when recruitment will re-open' and then get forgotten about. To that end, I don't know what you expected from this thread really.
To claim that you were looking for people in the same boat as you is fair enough, and I can understand, but to be honest, reading your the OP it doesn't come across that way, as you specifically ask 'was just wondering WHEN the induction for specials will be....' which suggests you are looking for answers that we can't give.
I'm sure that you know that as soon as anyone on here gets any news they will get straight online and post about it. I am also sure that you will receive the same news though, if/when there is any. As I said at the end of my last post, if you do hear anything, then please post it because, as you said, there are plenty of people in your situation who would love to hear the news. But, I just think that, posting these non-threads is a bit of a waste of time. That is just my opinion, sorry if it offends you in any way.

Hi 11rich11, best of luck in Staffordshire police specials. Seems like a real fast selection process. It's a shame west mids is unfortunately on hold. Whatever the outcome I wish you well.

Reason why I started this fresh new 'thread', was because I wanted to know the progress of the specials in 2012 not going through pages of previous threads stating back to 2007-2008 in some. Also as I quoted before, to find people in the same situation as me still waiting for their induction due to take place. I appreciate you are discontented about recruitment as we all are, however this website and threads are open to anyone, therefore they have the right to express their own opinions even if starting up new threads. With all due respect, you say 'I was merely telling you something that you didn't want to hear' if that's the case, then don't say it at all. You say this thread is a 'waste of time' and IM sorry if that offends you
