Hi all, just wondering if there was anyone else on here that was successful or if anyone knows roughly how many specials made it? (and if they are also praying swp don't do a u turn and tell us thanks but no thanks)

I am in the same boat. Think there are around 10 to 15 max in our group. PCSO and Staff be similar number but training before the olympics.
I hope they don't do the thanks but no thanks. Can't wait for September to start. I know of one other in.

Im in Eastern and hoping to stay there as a regular. I know a couple from West got in and a few from central. I have spoken to various people throughout many departments and all intakes are going ahead. The only reason for the longer gap between Staff and Specials training is because of the action packed summer we have lined up.

That's good to hear that it is going to happen, but you never know with SWP.

There are three of us from Western that got in, which is a very small number.

No I haven't heard anything about them. I think we wont complete any fitnees or drugs test/medical until June or July due to them having expiry dates, i think fitness is three months and so is drug testing. So if we start in September then the earliest we would do them is June.
(This is speculation though)

Would be nice to have some continuos comms though about what is going to happen or the plan. I need an issued blackberry so I can check my force email in the house haha (doubt it)

with regards to internal comms if you ask HR they will forward all emails (relating to recruitment) to your home email account, Just tell them your a special and as a result you dont regularly access force email.

Did not realise that, as when I said to HR I had trouble accessing them daily I was told there is nothing they can do. Just have to pop over C Bay when I can as it is not very far.

Like anything though I imagine it depends on who you talk to as they will all tell you different things. I went into the assesment centre having been told by HR that the competenceis being tested were the ones in the paper app and not the ones they attached to the pre reads. haha

Anyone got any news or insider knowledge?

Also the rumour is we would all go to eastern, anyone know if this is just hear say?

There have been a lot of redundancies in Eastern so I think people just assuming we will fill them. I do know that the tutor unit has already had dates for taking on recruits in their tutoring period in November.

Good news, I Havn't been into station for a week or so. Holding they might push things foreward a little. 6 months is a long time :[

Yeh well its a little more than 6months as on the letter provisional date is 1st October to start. At least ball is rolling now though and we haven't been forgotten about.

I believe training is based in Cardiff Gate too so not bad for those who live close to Cardiff. By October I might be living in Port Talbot for a short while so definitely getting a diesel haha
