I would imagine looking at it its one of these ASP Baton Holder Scabbard - Sidebreak - 21" but I may be wrong.

As far as I know all the kit used by the Bill was the kit used by the Met at the time of filming, someone in the Met may be able to shed some more light on this for you.

Its an ASP side break holder. It was not and to my knowledge never has been issued to officer by the Met. The uniform was given/sold to them by the Met but I don't think the equipment which they used ever was.On a side note, an inspector wearing a custodian? Unlikely.

Don't inspectors wear custodians when policing football matches and guff? Even lady cops wear them, so it could happen!

As for the baton holder, it could be:

Can someone please tell me why the Inspector has a custodian on? I thought they stopped wearing them at that rank?

Edit: I saw the photo and just posted without looking at other comments.

Just ignore me. Not that you need to be told to do that :aok:

If was was an inspector's custodian then yes it should correctly have two bands running round it. However the Met does not issue an inspector's custodian and I don't know when they stopped doing that. Male inspectors are given a flat cap with a band running round the brim.

No. Lady police officers don't wear custodians either at any time. They are not issued to them. However the bowler is a hard hat much like the custodian but its a lot more discrete about it. One does not offer better protection over the other really. To be honest though if missiles were being thrown then level 2 or level 1 serials would be being put in place.

Yes. The current issue is Monnadnock though. The majority of officers have ASPs as it stands. After the Monnadnock contract ends we won't be getting any more. I think we're going to go back to ASP. The Monnadnocks have been a total failure.

I've often worn my radio like that. I find it sits more securely on the stab vest, if it is on the hi-vis is wobbles about which can get irritating after a while.

As others have said, ASP Sidebreak. The Met used to issue ASPs in a horrible nylon pouch, now they issue Monadnocks in a horrible nylon pouch. Also, the belt kit in the bill has always been a bit iffy, they use odd speedcuff holders too.

The issue baton holder is as you've described, but I rather like the cuff holders we get.

Yep, met gets the PWL RCP7 cuff holder, very well liked generally.

But in the bill it's a Viper or similar jobby.

She would have a black 'mini' band under her cap badge.

The YK female officers were all wearing custodian helmets at Public Order training the other day so they are issued. The male inspector also had one on, the same as everyone else's
