Hi,

Who's applied for the late 2011/2012 SC intake to Gwent?

Any idea when or how long it would likely take to receive a papersift result? :p

I did

Nice to get one responder at least, I'm wishing you the best of luck...

Any idea when they'll let us know? Keep in touch, it would be great if we can get this thread up and running for us and fellow applicants....

Iv been told the p.i.r tests should be going ahead in march/april so hopefully you wont be waiting too long to hear back.

However its never that straight forward. Be prepared for a waiting game!

Good luck!

Hello everyone

I'm hoping for Caerphilly if I had a choice. Does anyone know how many specials they are taking on and how many applied?

Cheers

If I may ask, who informs you of the PIR test schedules?
Did you receive a letter or feedback acknowledging your application?
I received nothing myself and that's my reason for asking...

Fingers crossed we hear something soon!!

I second that, ;)

I've been told that we should have a letter acknowledging our application after 4 weeks. Speaking to people it seems that a lot of people have applied for the PCSO role rather than the specials. Also the fact the deadline was extended leads me to think they were not inundated with applications.

Fingers crossed for everyone.

I missed the last PIR tests because i was heavily pregnant at the time so they said i could do it again with the next intake. They originally told me oct/nov 2011 but then they extended their deadline date for applications. I rang again sometime in january and they said they hopefully march/april.

They are always really helpful when you ring/ email so maybe you could contact recruitment and they may give you an idea on when you will hear back.

;) Erin.

You're right, I also noticed the deadline was extended and put back -
A little bit annoying really, since I rushed to complete my application to make sure I was one of the first to submit to recruitment; then low and behold they extend the deadline.
That being said.. You never know, my trail of thought being if they're not overwhelmed with applications for S.Cs there's a good chance we can achieve a positive result (I hope, fingers crossed..;)).
Given the current financial situation my only guess is people are choosing the salaried wage of a CSO over the non-salaried position of an S.C.

Has anyone received any letters acknowledging their applications?

(Best of luck to all!)

Yeah I was the same, doing the application over Christmas and then they extend the deadline haha. I have not received anything yet but I think their main focus is PCSO's at the moment and I read on the GWENT Facebook page that they had over 1000 applications Posted Image

If I was living nearer to Cwmbran (HQ) I would have done this as well, handing in an application in person gives it that 'personal touch', so wishing you the best of luck..

Good luck to everyone anyway :D

I'm hoping for Caerphilly as well (since I live there, maybe that would give me priority picking over an area?) -
However, I would be more than happy with Blackwood, Newport, Cwmbran -
I'm pretty much flexible, :p.
