Sent them off in the post today, I filled in all the boxes, hopefully it's ok...
How long does vetting usually take?

For the 'District' section -
I gave the name of the housing estate on which I currently reside...
and under 'County' I stated - Mid Glamorgan... :)

Does that mean people who applied in Dec/Jan will be looking to start training in September?

Yes please do tell us more...
I know myself I have e-mailed them on several occasions now; and I have had no response whatsoever.
I am out of the country between late July and mid August; so I have saught advice in regards to my interview -
But as yet, I've got no response or acknowlegement, I hope and pray for a positive and flexible outcome.
**On calling recruitment I was advised the intake was planned for December...?**

What does everyone think my chances are of having my interview and medical after I return to the UK in mid August through a 'mop up' session?
If training is scheduled to start in September, I am thinking it's highly unlikely.
I have e-mailed Gwent and have received no reply whatsoever, I am getting quite disheartened here -
The chances of an interview are not looking good, are they?

I'm sure you'd be fine! It's only a 20 min interview, strange they have not replied! Maybe give them a call!

I'm just happy that I've come to an arrangement with them over my interview date, I am away for three weeks from next week (and so I'm sincerely hoping I'll get an interview date shortly after I return to the country **fingers-crossed, fingers-crossed**, ;)).

will probably be a last minute email.. :new_hmmm:

Probably will be a last-minute dash, everything else has been a last-minute job so far and I'm suspecting the plan is to catch us unaware...
Be prepared - Standby, standby... :new_yes: .

Fair play to you all for sticking it out this long, I have been reading through the forum and it sounds as though Gwent aren't the most responsive of forces! Good luck everyone.

It's taking a long time but hold on because we recently won the Home Office's ''Ferrer Award'', we are recognised as one of the top 5 Special Constabularies in England and Wales to work in.

Also whilst the Olympics are in full swing the force isn't running as normal.

And here I am... Even checking this forum for updates from Cebu, Philippines...
Over 6,500 miles away from the UK whilst sat in a coffee shop with my Wife... Now doesn't that show such dedication to the process...? :p

Has anyone received an information pack regarding the interview?
I've read a few posts about the interviews and people are saying they received booklets telling them what to expect

I haven't received anything?
