In shirt pocket, screen to body, typically with body armour over. Never had any issues that way, and it's reasonably accessable for the job related phonecalls/texts I get while on duty.

I have a GS2 also, I take it out with me.

I have an app which tells me my exact location, handy for when you stop/arrest someone in your OCU or on aid and you're not sure of the area.

what app is that? might be useful when im out on the street.

I've constantly got my phone with me on duty and has survived, please keep in mind that I have a nasty habbit of using it in the office and whilst walking and texting, dropping the phone which ends up being drop kicked the entire length of the office as it hits my boot mid step and impacts on a not so soft firedoor :) I have a Curve 9300 3G and there's only a scratch on the screen from a bunch of keys in my pocket which is the most insulting bit.

I keep my HTC Desire in my pocket with no case. It has stayed in there during rucks and had not been damaged yet.

I have a 9300 3G too! I had a hairline crack on my screen, then during a brawl I had my phone in my rear trouser pocket and i bring it out to find that the LCD inside is totally f***ed! Had to send it back to Carphone Warehouse to get refurbished but they didn't fix the crack, just replaced the LCD! And I've had moisture damage twice but it's dried itself out in the mini fridge on my desk! Got the Klickfast Leather case! Quite good, could do with a inner plastic shell or something!

Thanks for the responses everyone, I've gone ahead and ordered an otterbox case :p

Just out of interest, where did you get your Otterbox from?

And to anyone else out there, does anyone know of a UK supplier for Otterbox or is the only option to order it from US??

Ta muchly in advance.

I got the otterbox for my Storm 9500 from eBay as the seller was selling the defender case for the cost of the commuter case, though you can get them though Amazon.

I have a Nokia N8 for which I bought a tough inexpensive shockproof armour case and a screen protector from ebay and so far so good! My phone tends to stay in a front stabbie pocket when on shift.

Mobilefun.co.uk do otterbox for most phones, I got mine from Play.com but it broke after
a few months use (nothing rough just cracked in my pocket one day)

iphone 4 here.
have both Otterbox commuter(a baby defender if you like)
and the Griffin Defender. I've dropped the phone with the latter on, and thrown it on the floor a few times at work to show off... it's quite good!
£17.99 i think i got mine for amazon or play.
the commuter is good though, much thinner and still very hardy.

I have an iPhone 4S and have a standard griffin case that I got free (about £8 worth I think although the phone shop wanted me to pay £20!) I put it in the pocket on my body armour where my leg restraints go and place them on my belt. I have pressed against it a lot while on duty and never even pressed the home button never mind broken it! As mentioned by some others you can get some pretty meaty cases. Griffin do one for iPhones Samsungs etc that they tested by launching it down stairs and through fields etc (youtube it) and its quite a modest price for what you can do with it! :-).

I have a Griffin case too. It's bulky as hell but with my track record of phones it is a good investment.

My Casemate ToughCase for htc Desire is my saviour! Kept in my thigh pocket (easier to reach when sat in a car with stabbie and belt on), the navigation app has been used countless times! Beats the battered A-Z we have and the phone doesn't bear a scratch!

Well the case I have for my Desire S has proved itself to be less than impressive having dropped my phone today, on duty.
Case pops into its two pieces and the phone scratched in multiple places.

The case is unmarked though !
