Just wondering if any of you take a few days out and go to a hotel for a few days and have some down time?
Think we're going to do something in February. For the moment I think we'll be in Scotland

Yes and it's an absolute must! I love it, and always feel so refreshed (both personally and in my relationship) when I get back.

Yep taking my other half to London next month as he's never been.
Then we have said every other month we're going to try to take a long weekend and visit a different country

Northumberland is nice, and so is Wales. Always gonna be a bit grey though. Go for an up-market place too

Didn't really think about going anywhere else but Scotland until I read your posts. We have some wonderful spots up here and even in February they still look fantastic.

Find a cosy cottage in the Peak District and hide away with a log burning stove and some lovely scenary and brisk walks away from everyone else.

I'm off to Berlin in just over a week's time for a couple of days - staying with a mate and going Weds-Fri means it's cheaper flight!

Defiantly recommend it i took my wife away for the weekend late November to Yarmouth to see a show not the best place in the world but a great weekend just the two of us for once in a long time

Me and my girlfriend try and get away every so often even if it's just for a weekend. It can be incredibly cheap, with advance train fares and £19 travel lodge rooms you can't go wrong! That is of course if you intend on exploring the places you go and having somewhere to get your head down at night.
Last April we went to Dublin for 4 nights, £150 each plus spending money, over the summer we went to Bournemouth for a couple of days £25 each plus spending money and we've just booked 4 nights in Edinburgh for April £125 each. If you're the kinda person (couple) that likes to explore then theres plenty of places you can go like that!
