I thought that initially, but the AO on Tuesday seemed to think we would be in line for August training if we got through. Any ideas Gelf? Suppose it depends a lot on how long vetting takes to come back too?

Tbh since the've moved the mid year inake to march I would of thought it was near impossible to get on that one... August seems likely to me :)

Well done!

Wow. You got your interview date quick! I passed the PIRT in WSM mid December and had no interview dates yet! I guess I need to be patient!!

Use some initiative and call to chase them up, they won't mind. It shows you are keen.

I was told at the station there was small availability for interviews near the end of December and I emailed Sally as I left the station and had no response. Bar an email a few days later confirming i passed the PIRT.

Will get in contact with her again. Thanks

Hey there!

I just got a congratulatory e-mail and an interview date in early February from Michel too, very quick!

Our test, as in the one the people in this thread and I that passed their test on the 17th, the test was out of around 140-160 or so? The reason for this is that we didn't have to do the Observation part of the PIRT which is quite a large chunk.

Quite surprising, can't wait until the interview! ;)!

Cheers!

I would think August sounds about right, there may be one of two places left on the March intake but we ran a load on interviews on wednesday so they will be looking to get in and fill up the last few places. I dont know about other districts but on B we still have a fair few in the pipeline to fill up any courses for a little while yet.

Just a little tip..on average I bet 2 people drop out after the first day of training, ever thought of say having numbers over the 40 marks just to cover all corners?

Course numbers is nothing to do with me sir! The trouble with oversubscribing courses is you would need to try and second-guess how many will drop out and there is no standard formula, some run with the full 40, some only have 35 some even less. Back in the day you had your induction a few months before training started so if people dropped out after induction their places could be filled. The way things are now it would be a mad rush to fill any gaps and those that did come in would have missed the start of the course which is hardly fair!

Hey there RoboCop.

As Boodeny said, the AO with us said the video was incredibly old and out-dated so they decided not to bother including it in our PIRT.

Makes sense really, if it is that old and out-dated there is no point in using it, I imagine it will be updated in the new recruitment process that is currently being worked on I believe?

Can't wait for the interview now, revising hard and fast.

Cheers! Posted Image.

Hey Boodeny.

That is what I am revising! :D. I was given a list of competencies as I didn't receive any and I am practicing answers to each one along with possible questions they may ask me so I'm as prepared as I can be. Got around 3-4 examples for each one in mind.

The thread I got it from is here so if you want to take a look, please do so! :D. I am hoping they like me too haha!

Cheers!

I asked for 8:00pm, 2000 hours. I did say though if that slot was booked I'd be happy with half an hour either way, no problems.

Absolutely! It's quite fast, as SC Recruitment for A&S is now closed they may just want to get us through the process so they can start the new recruitment process as soon as possible? We might well be some of the last going through this process haha!

According to the timeline we're going about 4-8x faster than normal with the interviews which is crazy, not seen anyone get interviews this quick, if we get through hopefully the speed is kept up. I think a lot depends on security checks and vetting though which can take an eon to complete! Posted Image.

Cheers!

I might not be seeing you on the night then as I requested 1830hrs. As much as they want to speed us up, I'm sure that the vetting will be as slow as it usually seems ha which could slow down our medical (hopefully :D)! I gotta shift some extra poundage before that badboy, assuming I pass interview anyway lol

BE yourself in the interview, dont make your answers sound canned. ONly draw on real life experience and if you dont have an example that's ok I would just explain what you would have done. I am sure Gelf will put me right on the last one if it's wrong.
