Try accessing your router (which OS are you using?) and hopefully will be able to see (or change) the password there.
If you are still on the default password, it should be written on the router somewhere.
Edit: Dang, ninja'd

Think reset might be easier. Does that wipe all the info and allow me to start again? My mac and iphone connect automatically so I assume I'll have to re-enter connection?
Only if you changed the default password.
Did you change the default password?

Virgin.
Ahh Ok. With BT you just type in an IP addy and all your Hub/Router technical info etc is there, I wonder if Virgin do something similar?

Where do I enter that?
In your URL browser, as if you were typing a website address

I set up a new wireless connection, it gave me the settings in notepad format including the network key, but still nothing.
It will take someone who knows what they're doing about two minutes but I'm giving in for the evening. Thanks for all your help.

Check the network settings, you should find it there (this is why I asked you your OS).
Windows: run -> cmd -> type ipconfig -> look at default gateway. In my case is 192.168.1.254 (just because I set it up that way)
In mac I think it's in the options, somewhere.

That 192.168.1.1 is your gateway IP.

plug the computer into the router with a ethernet cable first, that will bypass any WAP keys

I'd imagine Merlin has at least ONE computer connected to the network?

- Wire the laptop/PC directly to the router. It may be easier to temporarily move the router rather than the PC. Don't worry about the phone/internet connection yet, just get it up there next to it and powered on. Use the yellow (probably) ethernet lead that come with your box initially, to cable them together. Give your PC a few seconds or so to obtain an IP from the router.
*ALTERNATIVE TO THE ABOVE STEP! Use another system that you already have hooked up to the net. Then proceed with the below.
- Press the 'windows' key and 'R', then type 'cmd', then type "ipconfig -all" in this black window.
- Note down what it says under 'default gateway'.
- Open up an internet browser and in the address bar at the top, type this number in.
- You should be presented with a logon prompt. The user+pass you need for this varies netween manufacturer and ISP, and some routers will have this info on a label underneath (BT homehub's do for example). But a quick google search should help you, if you can't find it. Try defaults like 'admin' 'admin' and 'admin' 'password'. I also seem to recall virgin netgear boxes were: 'virgin' 'admin' for the user + pass.
- Once logged on, you'll be in the router setup pages. From here find a section labelled 'wireless settings' or something to that effect.
- Once there you should see a field for the wireless key. Note this down and put that in the PC you're setting up, when prompted. If this key is starred-out, which it may be, then you can type a new one and use that. You'll need to pop this on another other wireless devices you've got setup though. You should be good to go!

Doesn't matter, skip step 1 then, and perform the other steps on the main system downstairs
Thanks. I'll give it a go. Sorry for being a bit short, just had one of those days.

http://192.168.2.1/ or 0.1.
those are Virgin IPs.
The access passwords are on their hub, if they've given you one.
