Groupon website offer.

Got an e-mail about this today from Groupon... I have had a pair for about 5 years and they're spot on when the weather gets bad. Last year I used them at numerous RTCs, out on foot for POLSA searches, and even helped push a bus up a hill (with the help of it's passengers and some dust sheets!). The issue isn't so much just the snow, but the sheet ice that often lays over roads prior to salting.

They're usually £24.99 but bought via Groupon they're £6.99 while the deal is on. Given how rubbish the gritters are round my way I think they're a really great buy at that price, hence why I thought i'd put the post on here.

Full details

I'd suggest going a size higher than your boots if your work boots are particularly bulky.

...Groupon is proving so handy for stocking fillers this year, everyone who knows me is getting a pair.

Never used Groupon before, is it to be trusted?

I've bought quite a bit of stuff on there... You pay them via Paypal then when the offer closes you get send your Discount code.

Go to the website belonging to the company selling the item and put it in your basket as you would normally, then at checkout enter your Groupon code which then gives you the discount/takes your bill down to £0.00.

A lot of the stuff is tat but they do occasionally have some decent stuff, and things like their Spa days and the odd bit of jewelry is nice.

Groupon is trustworthy, used their site for a number of things. They send you a lot of emails with offers though.

I quite like my daily e-mail... i've made a few purchases of items I would have otherwise missed. Just have to be careful not to end up impulse buying!

Horses for courses... I had the cheaper ones and the rubber broke after not very long as it didn't stand up to being stretched over bigger footwear. Get what you pay for.

They're the same, they're using the exact same photo.

Leadtime on the Bodini ones are 1-4 weeks too, Amazon are in stock today.

Also, if you need them urgently, Sports Direct are selling the same looking ones for around £5, and a pair which use crossed springs rather than studs for £12.

Aldi were selling these a week or so ago for about £7, worth a poke around your local store to see if they still have any.

Sorry to double post and necro post, but I'm SO unimpressed.

I just wore my grips out for the first time, about an inch and a half of snow and I wanted to dig the car out. Whilst digging, I see two little yellow plastic discs in the snow. I pick them up, only to find that they're off my sodding ice grips. A total of FIVE spikey things have broken (two fell out and 3 ripped in half). Seriously seriously unimpressed.

Anyone else had difficulties?

I've got yaxtrax... Well I did, wore them for the first time the other day walking to work and they were great, got to work and 3 hours later someone had stolen them... Yes, this is from within the police control room!!!!!

I can highly recommend them for the short period I had them :-)
