I'm just wondering if any of the most recent applicants had to attend the presentation evening to receive the application form? I've received my letter today asking me to confirm my attendance :-).

Just out of curiosity how long ago was that Jamie? It must've just been brought in I imagine if it wasn't that long ago.

If you ring rectruitment they'll usually just send you an application, number is on the website.

It might be a good idea to attend the presentation and speak to some serving specials before you decide to apply because it isn't for everyone. Also, the training is really intense and involves two evenings every week, every other weekend both days and some Sundays in between which is something to consider as well.

Good luck! :)

It was about end of august dude, I dont think its a requirement to attend the presentation.. its just to give you a clear insight into being a special constable :aok:

It isn't compulsary to attend a presentation I don't think but what Prae says is true, it will give you a good insight into what you will be doing, recruitment process etc. I didn't go to a presentation as I was already a Humberside Police Volunteer in D Div at the time. I do know they are holding one on Monday night though as I know some people who are going :rage: So there will be more recruits coming through soon!

I think the process has slightly changed now. As far as im aware, what they're now doing is putting you on an 'expression of interest' list and then asking you to attend the presentation evening. From there you're able to obtain an application form via email (just read the letter I received). Do you know what division are having the presentation evening on Monday?

Cheers,
Josh

Perhaps A division have enough specials for the present time, I know there have been a lot gone there from the last few intakes and there are only so many mentors to show them the ropes.

I'm not sure if I'm honest. I don't imagine there is enough if they're running another recruitment in-take? Correct me if I'm wrong however.

As far as I know it was D Division who had there presentation, I think anyway! So i've heard there is due to be another in a few weeks, not sure how many they will keep rolling though, I know there is a massive intake at the moment, but not sure when it will end.

Hey,

Yeah, there was people from all over the force area in our presentation, some from div C & D as well believe it or not (the presentation was based in Grimsby). If I'm honest it was very beneficial to attend too, it explained the assessment procedure, training etc and how it all works. I've currently been Police volunteer from the age of 16 (17.5 now) so I already have some knowledge of how it all works, however what was being said still helped me.

Cheers,

Josh

Hi,

The application is quite long due to thorough assessments and checks being made against applicants. just enjoy the pocess! Have you any idea when the next assessment centre is for Humberside? You'll get there in the end, if it's what you really want to do!

What div are you hoping to be in?

Cheers,
Dean.

I was but i left 5 months ago. because i had to much to do at home seeing we had a wedding coming up and every thing so it was very hard to volunteer.
so i had to leave but now i'm married and home life has settled down and i have lots of free time on my hands now. So i phoned up today to get the ball rolling on my come back.
