They have recruited from internal candidates, some have already started training and another course starts in January. Just keep chcking the website.

Ah ok does this mean there will be no external recruitment at all then or have they only filled some of the posts internally?

Spoke to Gwent HR a few days ago, the line was that they were awaiting the financial OK from WAG.
Watch the Gwent website been now and the new year.

Footie08 im guessing your not working in force, i think there is going to be a huge amount of applications for the PCSO recruitment. Sean are you a serving SC.

I did, but failed the interview.

Yes i applied and got it, i know a few people how applied and got it.

Gwent have put on their facebook that they intend to recruit for PCSOs early next year. Ive decided not to apply but stay an SC with Gwent as Im in a good job at the moment which wouldnt really allow me to continue my standard of living if I quit and became a PCSO. But I will hopefully be applying at least for a Constable position when Gwent start that again. Am I correct in remembering that they took from within last time round, like the PCSO 1st intake this year ?

The official line from the top is next time Gwent require more Police Constables they will only accept applications from Special Constables and PCSOs.

The big question however is 'when'.

Interesting... I applied to be a PC the last time they recruited and my AC score is still valid. There are a good number of people who are in the same position... I wonder whether we will be considered at all or just dumped.
