Am I allowed to keep my NATO jumper when the new fleece comes out? I rather like it.

Even if I am not allowed to wear it outside, can I hang on to it personally?

The official line is that to obtain a fleece you have to swap your lined jumper for it.

So you can keep your lightweight jumper anyway,

Or if you really love your lined jumper, you can keep it and not swap it for a fleece...

I thought I was the only one that likes the NATO jumper!

I love the NATO jumpers, they seem 'proper'. I've lost my light weight, luckily I've still got the heavyweight to swap.

Has anybody got a picture of what people actually look like wearing these mystical fleeces?
Also, when we're supposed to get the damn thing?

There is a picture on this site, it might be in a topic under the same or similar name. I got an email today from my MSC coordinators saying that I'm first in line as I'm IPS and I should contact them if I've not received a heavyweight jumper before.

Similar I should imagine, with or without various badges and chequered bands

When fleeces replaced nato jumpers in Suffolk we all kept our old jumpers, but were not allowed to wear them any more. So possibly maybe

The first ever email we got stated September as the roll out, shouldn't be too far away if we've been given confirmation.

Good stuff, as long as I don't look like a traffic warden I don't mind.

I've had mine for two months now. They aren't bad, but I still prefer the Nato. I handed back my lined Nato and kept the lightweight one.

They're also a right pain to wash, must be non-bio powder and no softener...

I still can't get over the idea of wearing them over the met vest, I'm looking forward to getting it though. This new uniform has been in the 'pipe line' for ages!

It's bloody comfy, and a lot better than the itchy nato jumper. Full thumbs up from me.

Over it. It's fitted so wont go underneath it and just looks silly if you try it that way.

Can't wait to get my fleece. Still have my lined jumper in the wrapping, tried on the lighter one about twice and I hate it. Feels horrible and looks stupid in my opinon

I imagine that new recruits won't be issued Nato jumpers, lined and unlined?

Looking forward to the fleece, although my vest isn't the best fit, so if it's fitted over that I might look literally like a plum.
