Hi all, no doubt this has been asked elsewhere but I couldn't see another topic covering it..... can someone clarify the situation on boots, do we have to buy our own or are we issued some? When I has my uniform fitting he implied I would get some on induction wkend but my letter says to bring some along, I don't know if this is just until they do then give us some or if we need to buy our own official boots to use.

thanks in advance!

When I had my uniform fitting I tried some on so I'd assume they supply them?

Hi,

If you are a special, you have to supply your own boots. However once you have completed all your training you can be re-imbursed for your boots up to £50.00 once you are borough, you have to keep our receipt though.

Good luck, I have just finished the course and its hard work, but it was good fun.

Hi

This information is not actually correct for Devon and Cornwall. You currently get issued with limited kit for the duration of your training, this used to be one pair of trousers and one shirt, but will be changing to one pair of trousers and two black wicking tops. Previously boots have not been issued and I do not think that will change. When you are attested however, with the kit you get issued will be a pair of magnum boots. If you buy boots now you will not be able to claim them back. You will however need a sensible pair of black shoes to wear prior to attestation.

Regards
OT
