Just posted on Sherlock, 50 PC vacancies for staff and specials. Thought I'd post in case some of you aren't on shift anytime soon. Got from tomorrow to Tuesday to phone for an application. Good luck everyone.

I misread first time round, it's certain times up to Tuesday that you can ring, but the lines are open til the closing date.

Hi all

i am former police officer - i had to leave last year for personal reasons. Have been trying to get back from when circumstances allowed but the freeze is hitting hard.

Do you think lancashire may consider me - i did enquire to lancs about becoming a special last year but circumstances meant i couldnt commit.

Anyone got a contact for someone i could speak to please?

I doubt they will accept my request but i can always hope.

Thanks people and good luck!

ksks I'd suggest you may need to just ring the switchboard and ask to be put through to recruitment, they'll be able to answer your question better. I'd do it in the next couple of days though if you can.

Good luck to everyone who is going to apply.

Good luck to those left behind trying to run a division after losing some of the more excellent Specials. :aok:

Thanks for the reply - i shall ring first thing tomorrow morning.

I assume there is a full recruitment process including ac and final interview?

Would recruits then undertake the IPLDP training course - i did this over 28 weeks but some forces do it differently.

There are no plans for another. This is a one off to replenish some lost officers due the needs of policing in this county in the coming year.

Yes full AC and Interview and start date will be beginning of January, one start date, no others. No mention of the training package being used/considered at this stage.

So i just treid to apply!! but im nto allowed!

I applied to CNC in Feb only did the paper shuffel at the beggining and forgot about it. They came back to me in july and let me know that they would not be taking my application further, This is classed as a fail within 6 month so that's me out of luck untill they recruit again some time in 2020, Im sure there should be some sort of clause in this because whats from stopping a force taking 12 months to get back to you about an application therefore keeping you out of the process for 18 months!

I understand the idea is to make sure you have 6 months where you can get new skills / experiances ect but surley that would be from the point i filled in the paper work!!!

So frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A mate of mine says that she has been told anybody who passes the AC will get a job ultimately, regardless of how long it takes. She was also told that she could defer her place once passed for a year, but I can't see this..?

Anybody shed light on this?

I believe the current plan is that the top 50 from AC will be offered a position, further than this there are no plans for any other intakes or for anybody to defer or anything else for that matter.

There is no saying they won't come up with another plan or change their minds but that currently is the only plan set in stone (and it's one of those stones that could easily be carved into a different shape at a moments notice).

Unless you get a formal announcement from the centre I would ignore what anybody else may tell you.

They did say that any passing but not in the top 50 would be placed on a reserve list but this means nothing. The list could be withdrawn at any time like the BTP reserve list. Other than this it's just the top 50 get the job and nothing else.

Did this not happen last month? My friend was a special and applied for the internal PC position but there were only so many places....is this an additional 50 places? :)

Hi,

Old post I know. I too am an ex-Police Officer looking to rejoin. However the only way in I now see is the CSO/SC route. I've applied for Lancs Specials so hopefully all goes well.

Old post? I've only just realised its a year old! My apologies.
