I did transfer my application, got an email in mid December inviting me to an assessment centre on the 31st January. Also got a phone call this morning telling me that they would be doing the fitness test on the same date as well!

all good things have you transferred yours to hinkely point? i've only just noticed on the CNC website now. i'm trying to decide if i should transfer my application to heysham (its a little bit closer) or continue with sellafield. it doesn't bother me which site just want to crack on with getting the job

Other sites ? I can only see Hinkley Point at the moment. Is Berkley (Gloucestershire) operational ?

Hinkley point and Heysham are the sites opening up, as for Berkley i'd ask HR they might be able to tell you if there are plans to recuit in 2012 up there or not. They were very helpful to me, I was told BCU South sites would be opened up this year.

Berkeley is not and will not ever be a cnc protected site. Trust me when I say all the smaller units that are keeping operational will be recruiting within the near future. Just keep your eyes peeled and don't make the mistake of moving somewhere you dont really want to go!
Which units would you class as the smaller units?

Ok I'll re phrase and say the power generating sites. These units have been scheduled for recruitment following sellafield and dounreay. A few sites like chapelcross, oldbury, harwell etc are scheduled for being closed soon so they won't recruit for those I shouldn't think!
Hope that's of help, and well done JS for keeping us in check.
When you say units are you referring to CNC Police Units or Nuclear Sites? My rule of thumb is... If its on Wikipedia then its okay to quote it and post it on here!

Yes sorry by units I mean the sites that we are delployed to. That is the only meaning of the term within the CNC as far as I know.

So I take it you're a CNC PC? What's it like?

This is my first topic...so play nice
I am just interested in finding out how long everyone's applications have been under review for?
My application was submitted at the beginning of June 2011 as a Police Constable New Entry Sellafield. I make contact with the HR team once a month to find out if there is any news...so far no news and they won't even give me a vague time scale. I understand that they have a lot of applications to review and that they are under a great deal of stress.... Also I received an email asking me to send any assessment results in to them if I had previously undergone an assessment centre with another force...are those applicants with assessment centre results from another force getting priority over those applicants without?
Thank you for your time...feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I applied back in March 2011 & sent my Special Constable assesment centre results in with my application. I then heard nothing until late December when I got invited to an assesment day involving, Firearms Brief & Assesment, Fitness Test and Medical. There were no tests as they have used my previous results which is why i recommend if you have your results send them in it saves you having to do those awful tests all over again. It might not get you prioritised but it certainly helps.
I passed but there was no medical as they cancelled it a few days before I was due to attend. I now have to wait for a new date which they again are refusing to comment when this will be & they also wont confirm when a new intake will be!
It gets extremely frustrating to say the least but hoping something will happen in the next couple of months.
Good Luck & keep us updated on how your app is progressing.

I used my Cheshire Constabulary results. I think as there all part of the NPIA assement criteria it was accepted.
Bonus for me as didn't think anyone would ever accept Special assesment results considering they don't do role plays or 1-2-1 interviews (just the 4 compentancy questions which you have to speak for 3-5mins & maths and written tests)
Saved me going through the whole process of doing Role Plays which are my least favourite part of the whole application process!
