Yep, still waiting as well, however i was late getting my second Doctors report back as the request for it landed while I was in Egypt.

I've sent it off now and emailed Craig at the OHU to check it's been received. Got an automated reply to say he is away until the 15th of Aug so perhaps anyone that hasn't had the letters yet will get them once he has come back?!

Hopefully I'll get to know soon as it seems forever since we were at Manchester!!!

Its because it has been ages since we were at Manchester, but at least we have a date for the final bit and the 9th of September isn't too far away.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one waiting to get the letter as was getting worried, hopefully we will receive our letters shortly.

Post if and when you get and news and i shall do the same Posted Image

Got my date today!!

Was emailed to say that the 9th was fully booked now and that I was on the next one taking place on the 16th Sept.

Letter confirming this was posted yesterday apparently so should get that through the letter box today or tomorrow.

Post up if anyone else ends up on the 16th and I'll see you there

Ive had a letter through inviting me to the 16th september medical. I'm a bit confused about what to wear on the day though as it mentions stripping down to my underwear so I may want to bring a robe, unfortunatly I dont own one. What do other people think appropriate clothing should be?

I'm on the same day as you.
I'll be rocking up in tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt and trainers as once all the doctory stuff is finished with its on with the fitness test.
For some elements of the medical we'll be just in underwear so to save you having to keep stripping down they have suggested a robe to to cover up inbetween if you are self conscious about sitting about in your under crackers.

I don't own a robe either, I'll be taking my dressing gown :blu:

As for undies, lucky boxers all the way I think!!!!!!!

Ha ha, they still suggest a rode eh, you won't be moving from room to room or anything like that when your undressed, it takes all of 10 minutes to do so you won't be sitting around in your undies, I didn't take a gown etc.

Just be prepared chaps for the cold hands and then cough!!!

....what then????

Are there any more stages/checks or is that it??

from what i can gather the medical is the final hurdle that we undertake... however vetting etc... could still be on going.

That's it, you'll do your training at carleton hall and then after a few months deployed.

So with a little over a fortnight or 3 weeks depending on dates how is everyone feeling??

I've been upping the press ups and doing some shuttle run practicing on a badminton court. Looking forward to the day but I would say I was excited/nervous in equal measures.

Good luck with it all ;) I didn't do any preparation for the fitness test, I found it easy and it was almost like they needed to know if my arms & legs work Posted Image

After that you'll be allocated your training days. And for those all I can say is take it all in and enjoy the training. Sometimes there's a lot to take in but don't worry as you can ask questions and you're given enough information to get you started. The training team is fantastic and you'll love them. And get to know your colleagues, the chances are high that you'll be posted with some of them (though I wasn't) and some will be friends for life. The last week of training is fantastic :)

Keep us posted.

Mines 2 weeks tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it. The only prep work I've done is rugby training, of which I train twice a week. Done the bleep test last month and got a comfortable 8.7 so I'm happy with that. The push pull isn't anything I'm worried about as I can bench 105kg. The medical even though I'm servin RNLI crew and flood rescue team member is making me apprehensive, maybe as there's nothing I can do but I'm sure that too will be fine. Hopefully I will be told I've either passed or failed on the day. Then the wait for a start date and booking a uniform fitting which will be like Christmas come early, lol.

Good luck to all those on the 9th and 16th and hope to see you in training :-).

I emailed recruiting with regards to this. They've said we will be informed if we have been successful on the day and, if so, our training will start on the 30th Sept. :ninja:

Good luck to Wrighty and co on the 9th!!! Not long now!!!!

Chris, I'll see you on the 16th :p

You certainly will :)
Was wondering if we would be having a uniform fitting between the 16th and 30th?

Good luck Wrighty!
