Received this delightful email yesterday

Re: Police Community Support Officer

Dear Candidate

Thank you for your application for the above role.

I am writing to inform you that since your application to become a Police Community Support Officer for the North East Force area, the area have unfortunately restructured and ceased recruitment for Police Community Support Officer for that area.

We will keep your application on file for 6 months (until 30th April 2012) and if we recruit within the North East Area then we will be back in touch, and carry your application forward.

Once the 6 month time frame has lapsed and a further recruitment for Police Community Support Officers arises then please feel free to submit an application. Should you wish to consider alternative opportunities with us please visit our website for further information www.btprecruitment.com

In the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in British Transport Police and wish you well in your future endeavours.

sods law indeed!

Congratulations and best of luck in January. I had my medical last week, now just a case of waiting for them to get back to me.

I am slightly confused, I had an email on the 5/12 saying that I was unsucessfull and another email on 23/12 saying that I was sucessfull and am now being kept on hold for six months.

Anyone had any similar confusion?

Sorry to hear that.

I think you might have to relate to what Beatlejuice has previously said..

There are three outcomes people will get:
Successful and invited to attend an assessment centre.
Successful but NOT invited to attend an assessment centre
Unsuccessful.

So possibly you come under successful and not invited so they have kept you on file for 6 months in case a suitable role becomes available?

Not too sure though.
Best off giving them a ring maybe.

What does the maths and English tests entail? Is it the same as regs?

I'm not sure on the waiting times between applying, but I'm applying as a Special and PCSO the same time, but that probably doesn't matter because I haven't been rejected within the last 6 months.

Just a quick update from me.

A week after the assessment day I had a phone call confirming I had passed and if I wanted to accept a conditional offer of employment, which without hesitation, I did.
They said they had to do employment checks and wait for certain funding to be in place but it shouldn't be long until I hear back. The intake should be around March for me but I haven't had any information on the medical yet.. Hopefully it will be soon! I'm so excited now!

Anyone else have news?

I'm in the intake starting on Monday so if you do get a training date, don't hesitate to ask me any questions :-)
