Wow that was quick! I still haven't heard anything so I guess it's going to be bad news because surely they would give more than a couple of days notice for the AC. :whistle2:

Just out of curiosity, is there only 1 assessment centre per intake? Or do they do like a certain amount of people on one, then the rest on other? Etc?

I'm new to here but thought I'd answer this question. A poster earlier said they had their assessment this coming Saturday. I got a phone call on Thursday to say my application was successful and could I attend the assessment day in London but mine is next Sunday the 27th at 8.30am. Does anyone know how difficult the fitness test is? Not much more than a week to prepare so I'm a little worried but just got to prepare as best as I can.

Well done and thanks for answering my question .
If I don't hear anything by tomorrow I'll give them a ring, fingers crossed!
About the fitness, if it's the same as the SC fitness then there really isn't anything to worry about but check out the general recruitment section as there's plenty of information about the bleep test.
Hope all goes well for you.

Thank you, good luck when you call them. I shall have a look in the other sections on the forum and will be sure to let you know how it goes.

Just phoned them now. They asked for my name and then said that everyone will know by this week, if not then next week at the latest. I would have thought though that if I passed, they would have told me whilst I was on the phone :/.

Oh well, the anxious wait begins!

So we should know around Xmas then ! Remember when the BTP say 'this week or next' they really mean the week after that.

A little update for the people awaiting the PCSO process:
I contacted BTP HR Business Centre :ermm: yesterday and spoke to the lady 'in charge' of the PCSO process, she was the usual wishy washy give as little away as possiable. But I managed to get out of her that people 'will know' :clapping: either this coming week or the following one either way, with regards to their application.

However.........
There are three outcomes people will get:
Successful and invited to attend an assessment centre.
Successful but NOT invited to attend an assessment centre.
Unsuccessful.

The people in group two will be kep on file for six months then dumped PC recruitment style. They still dont know where these position will be, so you are asked to apply, go through the recruitment process and spend money in the process for positions that could be completely unworked for you. Personally I wouldnt be able to accept a Wales and Western position in Birmingham, so would have to withdraw. But she wouldnt expand, even what she thought.

Its pretty much wait and see again from the BTP. This is starting to sound familar isnt it ?

I've got mine on Sunday at 8.30. Looking forward to it but i've got to be honest i'm quite nervous, does anyone know how long the assessment day will last for? Seeing as people are still waiting to be informed whether they will be invited to an assessment centre I find it a bit strange that I've already been invited to one, not complaining of course but what would the reasons be for that i wonder?

Best of luck to everyone waiting to hear back.

Rearrange into meaningful sentence to describe the BTP HRBC:

Know behind Their From Head Dont Their

Would give you an answer to your question.

-mini mod hat on-

I appreciate the recruitment process is quite frustrating, but try and keep it civil. The police recruitment thread ended quite bitter and a moderator ended up deleting posts left, right and centre.

While this is not as busy a thread, it's still not very professional and probably not the best route to a successful career to start slagging off the recruitment department of a company you are still awaiting for an assessment date for on a public forum.

Hi everyone, slightly worried as did an A/C for BTP PCSO, and from reading other posts, other people who have done the a/c did a maths and English test, I didn't do either of these today, can anyone add any information as to whether it has changed or not? Many Thanks

Found out yesterday around 2pm that I have been successful at assessment centre, and that I have a medical on 12th of this month.

Fair play to BTP considering I applied end of October.

Good luck to anyone else still waiting.

P.S. anyone know what the medical is like?

Contragulations. I received the phone call yesterday saying I was successful at Assessment Centre too which I was delighted about and have a medical on the 14th December. Where do you wish to be based?

Is it medical then vetting? Bit worried on Vetting, not had any criminal convictions but in regards to debt. Never missed a payment, pay more than minimum payment on one of my credit cards, suppose it just depends what they deem as manageable, to me it's manageable as i'm meeting minimum payments and overpaying easily but still a doubt in my mind.

Well Done and Congratulations !

This is the thing that annoys me with the BTP, those who pass the application are told and processed onto the assessment fair enough. But there are people still waiting to see whether they passed the application form.
I understand that those doing assessments need to be told, of course but equally so these who are unsuccesful need to be told to. Even if it is by standard thanks but no thanks letter or email, it would nice to be told at least.

Surely its none of their business how much debt you have ? So what they are saying is if you have a credit card or loan of a few grand then you are a coruption risk ? Really I dont think so.
A high number of people have mortages to pay, surely they would be at risk of taking a back hander to ?

As long as you dont have a criminal past, or have close family who are active customers of the police, I dont think your money background should come into it.

Thank you for the congratulations, may I add my own congratulations to those who have also passed A.C., and comiserations to those who have not.

Concerning debt, I believe they will only reject you if you have been bankrupt in the last 3 years or have not discharged the debt, or, if you have CCJ's IVA's e.t.c. I think if you have a couple of credit cards, loans, e.t.c. and they are manageable, and would still be managable on a PCSO's salary you should be fine.

If you associate with a family member who is an active criminal, depending on the crimes, you may be rejected as you could supply very sensitive information (obviously).

I have applied to London areas, but would take anywhere they give me if I'm honest :-)

Hi all congrats to all that have passed! Im in a strange situation at the moment. I basically passed the assessment centre in July and i didn't score high enough to be taken into the September intake so they told me I would have to wait for the February intake. Is anyone else in the same boat as me? Also to them who have passed what areas have you applied for?
