Just been on the Notts website, to look up the competency questions, because I couldn't find my hard copy. Is it just me or has the application form changed to a generic, non-constabulary specific form? Does this mean I have to download a new form to send in, as some of the questions are a bit different.

Did you sort this out? I would have said you would have to fill in the new form and some of the sections are slightly different.
I've started filling in my news form, jsut have to do the compentency questions, will concentrate on these as I messed them up last time and didn't get pass the app form stage. I'm actually pretty pleased with what I've wrote so far for everything else. Finch crossed I will do the compentency questions ok.

Well, I'm just waiting on my exam results (next Thurs) before I see which constabulary i'm going to apply for.

I've got into Keele, but I can't decide whether to apply for Notts anymore. i really want to, but I don't think i'll be able to make it down every weekend for training :/. I'm at Keele, so staffordshire, and they aren't recruiting. Any thoughts?

Are there any other police forces around Keele that are recruiting that may be easier to get to? You'll probably get tired of travelling, especially during training every weekend.

Yeah. It sucks but I'm going to have to apply for another force. I'll try Staffs, seeing as I'm already here ^^

There is West Midlands Police (south), West Mercia Police (West). There are 2 forces bordering to the East and North, not sure which they are though.

Cheshire's north, that sounds really boring in all honesty, they only have 300 specials, and Derbyshire's to the east (and just no...i'm a Notts lad 
). West Mids and West Merica seem pretty good. Going to research them a bit more I think.

Yep, go for West Mids or West Mercia, much better then Cheshire
I was going to join Derbyshire just so I can arrest some sheep fans on a Saturday 
Decided to go Notts though! Nearly these now, just fitness test and references to go though, intake in Jan.

I've sent off an initial application form for West Mercia. It's really close to me, I just need to find a semi-large town to apply for, to help on weekends, mainly. Policing villages doesn't interest me at all ^^.

Nothing wrong with villages, although you can feel a little underdressed when everyone has shotguns and all you've got is a can of cs and a hollow tube. Only joking, just a few occasions spring to mind.
Personally, cities are repetitive, good if you want to deal with drunks and scarecrow shoplifters. Towns offer a good range of things to get your teeth into.
