The helicopter mission that I hated was the damn oil rig one where it starts blowing up in flames when you're trying to rescue the dudes on there. I can never rescue the last guy because he's usually about to get into the heli and I get blown away or smash into the bridge for unknown reasons. Red Bull Time Trial however is a lot of fun, best time 1:27.3 xD

That damn mission sucks! I kept getting my tail stuck in the cranes! Have you tried the winching tutorial!? That is a faff!

On that we can agree on, it does suck really bad! Nope not tried many of the tutorials before, jumped in at the deep end on higher level missions. Will give it a go soon though and see for myself :p What actually makes it a faff?

Anybody got the PMDG NGX? I quite like the look of it but not sure it's worth the money. Also, I'm interested in the Wilco 737 PIC Evolution but it seems to be getting mediocre reviews. I wouldn't mind having it as I'm a fan of the classic 737s but if it's going to be rubbish I don't really want to waste my money before I find out...

Any ideas?

Haven't had a chance to try the demo as I'm on nights this week. What do you think of it?

I don't know if my computer would let me play these flight sims, don't you need a stupidly expensive graphics card?

Not prohibitively expensive, no. However it does get quite resource-intensive when you have detail up to the maximum level. You've just reminded me actually - I need to start looking for a new graphics card as my 896mb Nvidia GTX 260 is good, but I only get about 15fps on max settings in the 737 NGX using the UK2000 Manchester Xtreme scenery and even less on Amsterdam X.

Depends really, in my experience you can get by on custom settings (even with the global texture resolution set to ultra high) on a low spec GPU if you're using the stock aircraft (and most freeware ones) and set the intensive things such as Autogen and weather to low (they're real resource hogs!). I'm using an integrated graphics card and still get 20+FPS. Highest I've had is 40 when at high altitude. Saying that I do get bad drops when I'm using my payware addons like the Iris Vulcan (love a flight in XH558 every now and then) so if you're going to be using payware aircraft or to a bigger degree - scenery addons, get a decent graphics card. Otherwise it can run with some degree of success on low end systems.

Not sure, but I'd just like to share that I yesterday I had an hour and a bit of play in a real 737-700 sim! Awesome fun, but it does like to shout 'GLIDESLOPE' a lot. Had a go at landing a 747-400 full motion sim at BA a few months back too. I can vividly remember the instructor taking up a brace position as I was flaring, well... more like not flaring. I think I'd have left the nose gear embedded in the runway.

only a keyboard and mouse.

Flying on FS with a keyboard and mouse is like trying to joust with a cardboard lance

Definitely either Berlin or Munich I think, possibly Frankfurt or Dusseldorf. Definitely in Germany though!

There's a subtle clue in the background of each picture. You may need to enlarge them though.

Sounds like fun! Where was that?
