You may joke but in some stations they only have 1 officer on duty at times so they dont actually have a team to work withMaybe BTP are so understaffed in some areas that Team work has become N/A
Want to be a regular BTP officer?

All joking aside I hope you all like lone working, you'll often find yourself single crewed if you're at a post outside of London and not at a 'large' city station.
It'll make you better bobbies though (no joke you learn quickly to fend for yourself and deal with things on your own - without backup or constant supervision to rely on)

...Thats right throw a spanner in the works :-|
I've just passed an assessment centre for the CNC, and I'm now wondering if I should transfer my application over if they will - because this is a lot more local to me and would save such a HUGE move
Sorry mate, but I didnt apply to the CNC beacuse I didnt think it was a good move as with all due respect I wanted to be a PC. This it what I fear a lot of people who just want to be a PC, not bothered where just somewhere. Ive waited years for the BTP to openly recuirt in the area I want, and this is going to be my only chance for many many years I suspect. But I have to now content with people like you who just want to be a PC anywhere.
I personally think you owe the CNC. I doubt the BTP would accept transfers? as they will have 1000's and 1000's of applicants who actually want to join them not jus transfer as they are a better bet.
Further......
Anyone wishing to apply will have to do so again from scratch. No transfering of AC results etc. I have just confirmed with BTP Recuirtment.

I think the rule still applies one force at a time, then a 6 month wait if unsuccessful.
Bluebird.
I thought that was the case as well. However I've been told you now have to wait 3 months if unsuccessful. I thought it was different with BTP as well as they are a non HO force.
Just rang HR. She said I can apply for both, however if I pass specials AC and papershift for police officer then, I'd have to choose which to pursuit.
I'm currently a special so I'm wondering about both being applications for PC.

At the end of the application form it asks for a signature, I am filling it out on my laptop and uploading it straight to the website, how am I supposed to put my signature on?

Still fill the signature bit out with Newham SC (as in put your real name just as you would on any form

Yeah I just put my full name, some of these questions are rather odd, but I am working through them!

I'm just in the process of completing my application form however the box for your current employer and address isn't big enough. On page 1 of the form, it states you can unlock the document however it asks for a password.
Does anyone know what the password is to unlock it or can someone email me the unlocked version please?
Thank you
I think if you save it in save as and then try opening the saved version it should work

How does that work? The AC is a national SEARCH assessment which is for all forces? How can this count for nothing?

Sounds like rubbish to me mate, its a national assessment centre - did you speak to someone actually from recruitment or just a member of HR buisiness staff?
My mate rang up HR today to ask about the PC positions and they initially told him there wasnt any - I then told him to ask to talk to someone from the recruitment team - did the trick.

I feel sorry for the poor recruitment team having to sift through as I doubt it will only be a couple of hundred applicants......hey the ammount of emails might crash the force networkd
