Although, none of them were younger than 20. But what difference does one year make anyway? If you have a sufficiently mature head on your shoulders, and have a certain amount of life-experience, then those are the important things - not an arbitrary number of years.
Anyway, by the time you get through recruitment and training etc., then you may well be a year older ...
Seriously though, it is something worthwhile and I would encourage you to apply if you think you'd make a good Special, regardless of your age.
Good luck.

hey guys, newbie here. I was just wondering if Grampian Police recruits "young" Special Constable's. I'm 19 and at University and thinking of applying, but was wondering if there are any other "young" Special Constables. Thanks.
Hi, I am 19..well 20 next month, and at Uni.....have passed everything, just waiting for final stage of vetting. Police forces don't mind somebody who is young, as long as you can do the job properly....good luck and let us know how you get on.

I myself am a 22 year old student applicant, applied in March 2011 and have currently just passed my interview, proceeding to the fitness and medical now. They will NOT discriminate against you for being a student or for your age, heck I'm only a few years older...barely any difference! what they are looking for is the right attitude and a desire to serve your community and make a difference
Get that appilcation in as soon as you can to get things rolling!
