Hiya,

I'm due to upgrade my phone in the next couple of months - Vodafone have said I can upgrade now, but I have a couple of months left to run on the contract, so I think I'll be in a better negotiating position the nearer I get to to the end of my contract.

In the interests of research, I've been looking around at the various tariffs and deals and according to this thread:

Regular police can get 25% of their tariff from Orange. Would this be detailed somewhere in our stations/on our intranet? Obviously, thats not a bad discount, but would I be able to get it as a Special? Again, obviously, we don't get the usual payslip to show, but would it be in order to show the warrant card instead? Unless its officially sanctioned, I wouldn't do it, but if I can save a few £££ then all's good.

Please and thank you

I went with a reg to buy a phone from orange. They had to produce a payslip which we SC's wouldn't be able to do. Not sure if Orange accept any other form of id instead of payslip though......

If you are planning on getting a smartphone you'll want to watch out with Orange/T-mobile(EverythingEverywhere) as they have just lowered the allowence you get with the contracts to stupid levels.
