Haven't really enjoyed my short time there. But each to their own, I'm considering moving boroughs

I just passed final exam and have the passing out ceremony on the 25th November. This is the first I have seen any negative post about Merton so hope its an isolated case. Either way I will let you know what my first dealings are like once I get stuck in.

Briefings: Night - 2200hrs Lates - 1500hrs Earlies 0700hrs but most teams get there about 20 minutes earlier for briefing.

For anyone who is still to choose your Borough, we are happy to talk to you should you feel Barnet is a BOCU that you would like to serve on, so feel free to contact us, as others have, if you would like further information.
Thanks

I was at Richmond for 2 and 1/2 yrs well the South side of the borough, and it is like nowhere else, I'm so glad I don't work there now, I certainly would advise against working where you live as well

I heard not long ago that Kingston only allows it's specials to patrol Kingston town centre during Saturday day times, which sounded very... limiting. I have since seen some specials milling around Kingston train station and the shopping centre on Saturday evenings but do they do response policing? Do they have any drivers?
Theres town centre patrols but you do response im out on team but you cant just jump straight in as they believe you shouldnt be thrown in the deep end. Tbh ive never seen a saturday day shift in the town centre but you can do any shift that the regs can do really. Its a good borough where the MSC are accepted by most

I'd stay away from Richmond and Kingston simply because of other quotes in this thread, and the main things you'll be dealing with is a wed/fri/sat night full of drunks coming out of the clubs.
Hounslow, the borough I grew up in and spent most of my life in, what can I say, full of anti social behaviour and petty crime in Feltham and Bedfont, then in Hounslow and Heston you have a lot of ethnic minority and Iselworth just smells of sewers in the summer so yeah

I'd advise strongly about going to Brent / Ealing / Camden, if you're looking for real action and a mass variety of different jobs to do and cases to deal with. (Especially Brent, they are doing stuff on the MSC no other borough in the Met is doing)

Brentford boy myself.
If I ever hear back about a date for retaking my interview, and pass everything else. I shall them be at Hounslow (fingers crossed)
As for Isleworth, it's not as bad as it was years ago. And you only smell the sewers for about a mile radius of the sewage works!!
