Hi Steph, hopefully you'll get to Newquay, I'd hate to be the only new kid on the block, there aren't many specials in Newquay at the moment so I know we'd be welcome, if you do want a look around the station and custody just give me a shout and I'll take you for a tour as I already work down on custody as a detention officer.

Just waiting for my doctor now to write a letter or send my notes off or whatever they do, so hopefully will be ok.

The July intake is no good for me, but im happy enough to wait till October, but didnt get called about the May intake

I've got my uniform fitting tomorrow!! - anyone else been called for this yet? Ideally I could have done with a few more weeks to shift some poundage but hey!!

I'm guessing this will mean that I will be called for the July induction wkend rather than having to wait til October, still not heard anything officially though. .

I've been told i'm on the July Induction but i haven't been called for a uniform fitting yet, maybe it'll come by post on Monday, i hope so!!

I got the message about uniform fitting by phone lol. Im assuming...although i know i shouldnt.....that im looking at October as I cant do the OST weekends in August / September. No propping the bar up i guess.

I've not heard anything either yet Steph,obviously they are doing further up the line first.From what i can gather form the site Dan is the only one from our neck of the woods to hear anything and if he doesn't mind me saying, he has probably heard more because of how far he got with applying for Regulars and the fact that he was only waiting for a start date so they don't want to mess him around anymore.I'm only presuming all the checks are still going on.Still worried about my medical tho.I'le panic even more when you hear and i don't!! Nicki

I had my uniform fitting on Friday and have just heard that one of my referees has been contacted for a character reference. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly as I would be really disappointed to get this far and fall at the final hurdle.

so after the uniform fitting (which I had on Monday) does anyone know what's next?-do we have to do a medical or only if they're not happy with some responses on the medical form we filled out, also anyone any idea when we will hear about induction training dates?!!

I'm up for a uniform fitting at Bodmin nick on the 6th so hopefully I'll see some of you there, I'll be in uniform already and my collar number is 56006 so come and say hi! When HR phoned me to ask if I could start in May I said no so I was told I'd be penciled in for the July intake, they let you know about 8 weeks before the start date so you should all hear next month with a bit of luck! I'm not sure if there is another medical to do yet but if there is I should imagine it's the same one I did for the regulars, hearing, peak flow lung thingy and hair sample for drug testing.

Hi, there are nearly 30 specials at St Austell at the moment, most of whom are probationers so they are not taking on any more for a while.

Of your 2 alternatives I'd go for Newquay , for one thing it's a lot busier and second we don't have that many Specials there. I may be biased though as I'm the SC/Sgt at Newquay

Hi Paul,I'm a little gutted that it may push me back because my appointment isn't until the middle of May,only because, as like you said before, it would be nice to be on the course with people we have already met. (We have both waited so long for this, a couple months won't make a difference!!)You seem quite adament you are on the October training,is this because you are worried about your leg or have they now told you otherwise?.Nicki
