What is the best software to convert a DVD to MP4 for upload to an iphone? I've tried one lot of software but nothing happened when I put the DVD in the PC drive - any tips?

Defiantly this, its a bit of free software to download, I use it all the time and it's so simple!
Once the disk is finished ripping in itunes menu click import and put the video in, should work!

Not a free solution but I use AnyDVD and CloneDVDmobile from SlySoft http://www.slysoft.com/en/
It works on protected DVDs as well.

Apparently Handbrake has to be hosted in France, as it is illegal in the States.

Downloaded Handbrake. It then told me it needed a .Net framework which I downloaded. So far so good. Then said it needed a WIC, took me to Microsoft Download centre with about 15 options so I have now given up.

I use Handbrake but also bought a program by Cucusoft;

I have them for putting movies on my iPad and iPhone so didn't mind spending a few quid to have a decent program as i'll easy get my money's worth from it (and already have!)
