In D Division; Yes they can, but SNT work till 12pm anyway including PCSOs.
I think what they ideally would like to see is Specials addressing SNT issues but without being tied down to a single SNT area.

I'm interested in d division, would i be able to go out on response into the city centre? Im only really available to work saturday and friday nights. So im concerned that it will limit what i will be able to do as a special.
Without going in to too much detail, yes you would be able to go in to the city centre on Fri/Sat nights on foot.

Does anyone know if Derbyshire specials can work on response? If they are only aloud on SNT teams does this mean if you can't work in the day it's pointless becoming a special?
Im a Special in Derbyshire, We work both SNT and Section. There are also opportunities to go on attachments too.

Could you explain what section is as oppossed to response
Also ,has anyone in the force ever suggested that specials will only work in SNT in the future?

Section would normally mean where you work out of (Swad, Cotton Lane, etc.) but in this context it refers to working with the reactive team.Could you explain what section is as oppossed to response

I spend most of my time on SNT (Through my own choice), but have done shifts on reactive, which you will need to do to get signed off.
As long as you get a 50/50 ratio of SNT/Reactive on your minimum hours they are flexible.
On D division at least anyway.

I have worked with SNT only a hand full of times, a few of which were operations which I offered to assist with a few weeks before.
Working from a small station such as the one I work from means that you are more likely going to "Crew-up" with officers on response, some of who are even working with the SNT.
I am choosing to wait until I am signed off independent before I start work with the SNT properly, as I will be working alongside PCSO's for the most part.
That's how it is in my small C Div station, but im sure it varies over the force area.
