Logically if you just turn up out of the blue, there's probably little chance of getting out as you are not expected. What is the procedure? I assume it would be the same throughout the county!
Please advise!!!

If you want to do a foot patrol with another special that is FIP then just text them and ask. If you want to do a shift during the week with the regs then ring or text your sgt asking..
Edit: Spelling, post not strctured too well, matchsticks under my eyes keeping them open!

Once we have finished our Stage 2 training on the anti social behaviour van we then go on to Stage 3 which is done with section and we are provided with the whole 12 months section shift patterns in a spreadsheet.
Not that you needed to know all that but I am just interested to see how Herts do it?

This is the same for the regular team, so we are always with our reg team.

Waddle, currently it is station dependant you will find. At the Nidge we run a 5 week rota, aligned to the Regs, with the group divided into teams and duties are mainly booked in advance via this, that way we have a balance of drivers/ students etc etc.

Merlin, not yet, it is something that is going to be brought into the system with the 'integration'.

Would that be a strict "this is whats available so take it or leave it" scenario or is it more flexible?........within reason of course.

Waddle, very flexible. Designed to ensure we have the correct balance and students have someone to take them out, so people don't come in and kick their heels.Would that be a strict "this is whats available so take it or leave it" scenario or is it more flexible?........within reason of course.

I'm not sure if it is the same across the board, but in watford we have a 5 week rota of shifts, 3 weekends we work (Earlies, Lates and Nights) then 2 rest weekends.
This is the same for the regular team, so we are always with our reg team.
So if you cant do that do you get into trouble?

No, it's just so that if you do work the weekends your team is on you know the people you are working with.
