Unfortunately, CSP's area on this forum is fairly quiet and being a Strathclyde Specials applicant, I cannot answer your queries. I'm sure if you contact the recruitment team, they will be happy to help.
Hi I am hoping to apply, does any know if you can type the application form or if it has to be hand written? also what shift pattern do Central work - how many days on then days off?
My bold. I would say that you can type it, as they on the website advise you download it and then e-mail it to them (as an attachment). That's what I did for Strathclyde and then signed it when at interview.
They don't appear to give much away on the process for CSP recruitment for Specials or Regulars on the website other than the process is similar.
All the best with your applications folks, and feel free to visit other areas of the forum too.

The application is to be completed electronically. Where it asks for your signature type your name in block capitals.
Central Scotland Police operate the VSA:
Week 1: N N N N RD RD RD
Week 2: L L L RD RD E E
Week 3: E E RD RD N N N
Week 4: RD RD RD L L L L
Week 5: RD RD E E E RD RD
E - Early shift, L - Late shift, N - Night shift, RD - Rest Day.

Im looking to apply to CSP, but there are other forces who are closer who MAY recruit at some point.
Does applying to a force in Scotland still affect the '6 month' rule when being rejected/failing? As the more local forces would be in England, I just dont want to apply to CSP, have the application rejected for whatever reason, then miss a recruitment drive locally!
Thanks,
Jimski

The recruiting process is totally different as you'd expect seeing as the judicial system is entirely seperate. You'd need to check with the English forces but I don't think a rejection from a Scottish force would have an impact on applying for an English force - best to check though.

Hello! I can see this is a pretty quiet part of the forum but that there is some very knowledgeable guys here too! So i was just wondering if anyone could give a clear uptodate breakdown of the recruitment process for csp. As people have mentioned, they dont really give much away on their website and ive noticed the process seems to vary somewhat between forces. Any information anyone has would be fab!
Thanks and happy new year!

i have my SET on wednesday and this is my understanding of the situation! They need to recruit 36 officers ( 12 for january febuary march) by March, therefore the process is streamlined. First of is SET ( Standard Entrance Test) the results of which are given to you next day. Next is 2 day assessment ( group exercises interview etc) then im unsure of how the rest works! but comprimises Fitness Final Interview and medical...all in a short amouht of time!
Hope this helps!!

The process is Standard Entrance Tests which if passed will then allow you to attend the Assessment Centre in which you are required to complete various activities aswell as fitness on the same day then if successful you would move onto the Panel Interview and if you were successful then you would have a medical. I am pretty sure this is how it is currently setup. I would recommend you get any applications in soon, as they are only recruiting for a limited time and I am pretty sure the spaces will fill up very quick!
On the contary, I was informed that they have stopped recruiting applications on the 5th of Jan due to their high volume of interest!
