Just wondered if anybody out there has had an issue passing vetting through no fault of their own..?

And if so:

Did you appeal?
What happened then?

Someone I know had an issue at vetting stage.

They called recruitment and recruitment arranged a "vetting interview" for them which they passed and had their application reinstated. They are now a serving special.

Obviously it will be different on every set of circumstances. Give recruitment a call, they can only say no.
